 'Great Watch' 2009-09-23
By B. Zimbardi (Cumming, GA)
This watch really doesn't need a review, to be honest.

If you have ever owned a Casio digital, you already know everything I am going to tell you.

This watch is built solidly, and the case is indeed very slim compared to other pathfinder models. I do Police Work, and as such, I do not usually wear my expensive watches to the job. I have been pleased with my PAG40-3V, which is basically the fullsize version of this watch.

When we switched to long sleeves, I had a problem, and purchased the Pathfinder Slim.

The case size is listed at 47mm, which sounds large, but I think it may be a touch exaggerated. This watch does not look large at all, and I have a 7' wrist, which I am told is small for a male.

All the functions on my watch work perfectly, and I love the solar power over the PAG40-3V's batteries. Atomic timekeeping is also a feature that I have come to love and I will no longer buy digital watches that do not sync with the atomic clock.

As I said, there is really not much I can add to what has already been posted here, other than to say that this is a fantastic watch if it's what you are looking for.

I love the design, and despite my large collection, I often find myself wearing this watch outside work.

 'I like it!' 2009-09-17

For a very long time I had been looking for a nice watch which would be sturdy and with enough features.
This watch ended my search. The Barometer and Altitude are pretty much precise. Just the Compass is not always showing the right direction.
I would say its a very good watch for the features, looks and the price!

Just the draw backs I find with it are - Its weight, I can feel the weight on my wrist. Whereas, with my old watch...I never used to feel that weight. Also, sometimes during poor light the battery saver mode turns on and the screen goes blank.

 'Execllent watch! A Must-have for hiker!' 2009-09-14
By L. Hou
Received three days ago, and carried with me for hiking the next day. Everything looks excellent, and the size is just right.
It did sync to standard time the first night. I spent two hours going through the guide, and find it is really complex!
But what you can complain about? There are too many functions. All basic functions are easy to be remembered and accessed.
The compass looks much fastest than my Garmin 60CSx GPS, and much easier to use!
A great watch and must-have for hiker especially if you don't have a hiking GPS.
The only things I like to see is to be able to display something else such as month-year instead of the seconds at the timekeeper mode.

 'Nice watch' 2009-09-13

Watch is nice looking enough. I've always considered digitals to be a bit 'cheap' looking. This one not so much. Having quite thin wrists I'm thrilled that it's not as big as many other watches I've seen of this genre. I've seen some that looked like a spare tire! The temp guage - as others have mentioned - tells you the temp of your wrist but it's no problem to take it off and strap it to your pack if you need an accurate reading. Just be sure to calibrate occasionally. The compass works well enough. I have a hand-held gps if I need extreme accuracy so this is more for a quick glance. My favorite feature is the barometer. Great for 'guess-timating' upcoming conditions. it never needs a battery, it never needs set, it's nice-enough looking to wear 'dress-casual' yet still looks tough and adventurous. There is a learning curve as far as some of the uses and calibrations but once you've got it it's quite intuitive and simple enough.
