Wish I'd gotten it sooner!! ![]()
Most excellent product. I love how it's very simple and yet ever so useful. I wish I'd gotten it sooner...the first week at home with my baby girl was hell and having to track everything by writing it down in a notebook was a bit tiresome. I have to say, though, it would be nice if the Itzbeen (gotta love the name) could tell you how many diaper changes that day and how far apart the feedings were, etc. Still, this makes an excellent gift for any new mother/father parents and the price is just right! Stunned that it's not available at Babies-R-Us or other such stores.
I give it 4-Stars because 4.5 is not available. I take off the 1/2 point for lack of activity history data storage capability. Will that be in the Itzbeen II??

I ordered this just before our baby arrived, and honestly wasn't sure if we'd find it useful or just another gadget that ends up in the goodwill box. Our baby was delivered a week before the timer. At first, I thought 'Now, how hard is it to remember: feed every 3hrs, change diaper, pump every 4hrs, etc.' After a couple days, ohmygosh, schedule anarchy! As soon as we'd finish a bottle, we'd think: 'Okay, feed her again at 5:00 don't forget.' A couple hours later (after a diaper change, pumping, washing bottles, etc.) it's: 'What time did we feed her? Do we go again at 4:00 or 5:00?' We always seemed to struggle within a one-hour range. With a preemie, it is important for us to wake her for a feeding if she doesn't wake on her own.
Then, the ItzBeen arrived. Three AAA batteries later, it answered all our questions and my husb and I don't have to play the clock guessing game with each other anymore. ItzBeen couldn't be any easier to use. Simply press the button with the PICTURE of what you just did: Diaper, Bottle, Nap, or Wildcard. (I use my wildcard to keep track of the last time I pumped.) The button will even LIGHT RED for a second to assure you ACTUALLY pressed it.
It has a backlight feature for nighttime use. You can set alarms for each timer in case you want the ItzBeen to alert you when you've lost track of something. When alarming, the overdue icon button will BLINK RED and there is an option to hear the alarm too. If you're breastfeeding, ItzBeen has a slider to help you keep track of right/left. There is also a handy lockout feature so you can lock the device to prevent anyone (young children?) from accidentally resetting your timers.
Actually a cool little device!! Especially helpful when you're handing off baby between parents, grandparents, or caregivers. It takes about 2 minutes to learn how to use, while taking A LOAD off your mind.
[This would make a great shower or new baby gift. Especially for a new parent or for twins/multiples]

Purchased this before my first baby and it helped a ton when he was born. With the constant feeding, pooping and lack of sleep, this product was quite a lifesaver; especially with the fatigue. We used it for my baby's 1st month and half. By then, my baby got into a constant routine. I just wished there was an internal memory (enable to hook into ur cpu) to log and chart every timed incident.
Great reference tool and timer. Get it!
