Paranormal Activity 3 - Plot
Based on the trailer, it shows that the film may be a prequel set in 1988, focusing on Katie and Kristi when they were younger and stalked by the demon, that was heavily mentioned in the first and second film. Although proved to be a prequel in the trailer, it's unconfirmed if it will be a parallel sequel such as the previous film as well. Their past life using the demon.

Paranormal Activity 3 - Production
Within an interview with Dread Central, director and producer, Oren Peli, stated that Paramount Pictures was given the greenlight to begin production of Paranormal Activity 3. Production about the film began in June. The film is going to be directed by Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman (who both directed the documentary Catfish). Jason Blum, Steven Schneider and Oren Peli produced, along with Akiva Goldsman serving as executive producer. The script was compiled by Christopher B. Landon. The sequel includes a planned release date of October 21, 2011.
