Some parts of the Great Wall

The Great Wall at Juyongguan can be a strategic pass to Inside Mongolia and provided defense for Beijing, only 50km separate. The pass is considered one of three main passes in the Great Wall, with others at Jiayuguan (to the west in Gansu State) and Shanhaiguan. This the main Great Wall was the most popular of great wall tours in my view.
The first fortifications were built here during the Spring and Autumn Period (770-476 BC) though it wasn't until the Southern and Northern Span (386-589 AD) that they were from the Great Wall. The present fortifications date into the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) however the marble "Cloud Platform", with carved pictures lining this doorway, was constructed during the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368). This mighty fortress has been the site of several battles, from ancient times right as many as the Second World War against the Japanese!
Badaling is the most famous section of the fantastic Wall, made famous outside China and taiwan during President Richard Nixon's historic visit to China in February 1972. Many experts have visited by over 370 world celebrities and dignitaries, together with by over 120 thousand thousand tourists of beijing great wall tour over the years. The Badaling section in the wall was originally constructed to protect Juyongguan, though has bee in use since the Warring Advises Period (770-476 B . C .).
The portion of the Great Wall at Badaling has undergone heavy restoration, and in 1957 it's the first section of the wall to open to tourists. With 1961, Badaling Great Wall was listed for a “cultural relic site under state-level protection".
