Blogging is the easiest and cheapest if not free start-up business models on the web.

Maintaining blog can be through putting up affiliate links and of course the most common popular contextual advertisement program – Google Adsense.

There are many ad programs on the net, but we’ll focus on Adsense here.

Adsense is a program owned by Google. It was made for website owners to make money by hosting other business ads on their sites related to your side there and topics post. It is called contextual advertising because the ads being shown are related to your site content.

Ex. Your blog about topics about saving money then Adsense will show discount coupons, online freebies and other related ads on your site.

How can you make money?

When someone clinks on the ad by shown, Google pays you the amount the advertisers (other site owner who pays Google to show their ads) and the payment is varied depending on the ad being click (they call it click-through) and the site impression and so on (cpm, etc…)

So what’s the tip? Let’s start with the preliminaries:
  • Start posting to your blog, make it daily or at least four times a week. Stick with your topic (the one that you have knowledge of or just a little idea) and make your post interesting and engaging as possible so that you will attract readers.
  • If you can’t write have someone write for you if you think that you’re article is not that good may it be your friend, bro, sis or anyone you can request. But I strongly advise not to hire someone to write for you when you’re just starting your blog, you blog because you want to make money not to lose it.
  • Your blog doesn’t need to be professional, although it will help much if it is, they said blog are meant to be informal so casual or conversational writing will do.
  • Use your blog address as your signature in emails, when you post and visit forums and other social networking sites. This is a great way to let people know and visit your blog.
Ex. of signature:

My Name My Site (www.ernanbaldomero.com)
  • Share your link to the people you know in the real-world and the cyberspace, during traffic to your blog means more people will click your ads.
  • Submit site to search engines such as Yahoo, Google, Alexa, Ask and try to learn more on search engine optimization (SEO), it will help your search ranking whenever makes your blog easier to access and when someone search for something related to your blog.
  • Use meta tags and special keywords/tags on each post. Use keyword good keyword rich content so that it will work in search engines.
  • Build links of your blog on other websites. These comes submitting articles to other blog networks or article directory related to your post (in this case you’ll have to make a professional article to be accepted) where you promote your website link. Content is king as always they said because by having good page ranking sites link to your blog will also share their page rank to yours.
  • Use RSS. Really simple syndication that simply means someone can syndicate your blog and get its fresh content even visitng your site, but can read your post in search engine sites.
  • Do the Ping. Pinging search engines about your blog will also raise your search engine ranking and this is absolutely free. To those using wordpress like I do, you don’t have to manually add your URL to site directories. Just add your ping address in your site and you good to go.
Remember the basics thing that to have a successful Adsense earnings is to have more traffic in the sense that real people will visit your sites not autosurf, or link exchange programs. I strongly advise not to use autosurf programs because it will not help increase your adsense earnings but may also result to the suspension of your account. Refer to your Adsense Policy for more compare details.

Must rule: do not click your own ad.

Standby for more post about making money on the tips and other useful tips that will also come my way.

Google adsense is never hard to make money with, almost every new user who signups up with adsense makes money through them. Those who did not either do not have the knowledge of how to optimize their site or it could be placing the ads in the wrong position.

Here are some 5 proven ways on how best to improve your Adsense earnings.

1) Concentrating on one format of Adsense ad. The one format that worked well for the majority is the Large Rectangle (336X280). This same format have the tendency to result in higher CTR, or the click-through rates. Why choose this format out of the many you can use? Basically because the ads will look like normal web links, and people, being used to clicking on them, click these types of links. They may or may not know they are clicking on your Adsense but as long as there are clicks, then it will all be for your advantage.

2)Create a custom palette for your ads. Choose a color that will go well with the background of your site. If your site has a white background, try to use white as the color of your ad border and background. The idea to patterning the colors is to make the Adsense look like it is part of the web pages. Again, This will result to more clicks from people visiting your site.

3)Focus on Content. The content of your page is what drives people to your site. Make sure the content is clear and concise. If you aren't seeing Google ads that are related to your content, try to work in more keywords that relate to your topic. Another trick is to define some of the most relevant words and concepts related to your content.
One common mistake is having pages that are too low on content. In this case, Google won't provide ads. Make sure you have at least a paragraph or two of text on each page.

4)Install a Google search box. Then, when someone searches from your site, ads that apply to the keywords the person searched for will appear on the search results pages. When someone clicks, you're paid.

5)Submitting your articles to high traffic directories or websites:This is a good way to help you make your articles more searchable. If you follow this step and submit your articles to high traffic websites, you are on the right track to TONS of traffic from those websites. This indirectly help you get targetted traffic to your site. This means that you will get many "CLICKS" from these readers. Besides, they will tend to spend more time
finding for information in your site and AdSense Ads will be an important source of information for them. FINALLY, you get plenty of "CLICKS" and revenue increase.

For many webmasters, Google AdSense has become a great revenue generator. Since the program pays the webmaster every time a visitor of their website clicks on the ads that Google displays in their web pages, the same has become a truly viable and profitable option to earn a living online. As a matter of fact, there are countless webmasters who have dropped their day jobs so that they could focus on the AdSense program. They build dozens and dozens of websites, all of which carry their AdSense code, hoping to generate amazing earnings from such an approach. After all, if one website can generate $25 per month (a low average at that), how much could 100 websites be able to produce for the webmaster?

But success with the Google AdSense program is contingent on three things:

1. Cost Per Click (CPC) attached to the ads that will be displayed;
2. Page impressions, or the number of people who will get to visit the website; and
3. Click Through Rate (CTR), or the ratio of people who will click on the ads vis a vis page impressions.

The CPC can be approximated by checking out the going rate of the keyword to be targeted before building a website. The resource that can be found at is an excellent tool to help anyone in determining the possible CPC for certain search words or phrases.

The CTR can be improved by arranging the AdSense blocks in a manner that would make them look like organic parts of the website.

But page impressions would be a little more difficult to achieve.

Page impressions are actually equivalent to what is generally known as web traffic. Web traffic, of course, refers to the volume of users who manages to load up a particular page of your website. It has been said that traffic is the lifeblood of any online venture, and this couldn't be truer for websites that earn via Pay Per Click (PPC) programs.

In a nutshell, the success of your Google AdSense campaign would depend on the volume of traffic you'll be able to generate for your website, or websites.

You could try a lot of marketing tactics, but often, these strategies take time to gestate. Additionally, each and every competitor of yours would be trying out the same techniques, and there is no real guarantee about how much traffic you could derive from them.

This has led many webmasters to try out PPC advertising for their PPC earning campaigns. The way it goes is that they will advertise their websites through Google AdWords. Google will then display their links the way it displays AdSense ads. The webmasters who decide to take this route would then have to pay Google every time a user clicks on the ads that lead to their websites.

How do these webmasters earn, when they're supposed to spend for every click?

Well, most of them build websites that are exclusively made up of AdSense ads. Hence, whenever a user is led to their pages, he'd have no choice but to click on the relevant ads that appear therein.

There are some webmasters, on the other hand, who rely on the strength of their content. They use AdWords to expose their websites to people, hoping that those very users would love what they'll see and they'll keep coming back every now and then.

There are pros and cons to this strategy, however. Let's take a look at the advantages first.

You will attain guaranteed traffic.
You will attain highly targeted traffic. Since your visitors will be composed of people who are interested with the subject of you website, there is a higher likelihood that they will click on the ads that would appear on your pages.
You will only have to pay for the traffic that your website would receive. Nothing more, nothing less.

But it's not rosy for this approach. Here are the disadvantages.

You'd have to spend.
There is no guarantee that you'll be able to recoup your financial investments.
Google is cracking down on websites that are merely composed of AdSense ad blocks. If you opt to use this approach, and your website is composed exclusively of AdSense ads, chances are, your website would get de-indexed and your AdSense account would get suspended if Google catches you.

The best way to go is to rely on the strength of your website. Prepare unique, premium content and hook your visitors with the same. Content is king in the World Wide Web, after all.

If you decide to use AdWords to get some traffic, make sure you have a mailing list in place to capture their contact details and ensure for yourself some repeat visitors. PPD advertising should only be used to gain initial traffic, until your other marketing strategies would finally produce the desired results.

Adsense

For the blogger who doesn't have their own product, it's still possible to earn money from their blog thanks to Google Adsense. Google Adsense is free to join and easy to set up.

As you write the content for your blog, keep in mind that the ads shown are dependant upon the surrounding content on your web pages. Also, experiment with the placement of the ads to discover where the ads sit that get the most clicks.

Many believe that the best places for the ads are at the top left, at the bottom of the first post on the page and in the footer. Unless your blog is strictly an Adsense site, it's recommended not to make it look too cluttered with Adsense ads.

Of course, the more traffic you get to your site the more sales you will make, resulting in a higher income. There are sites that earn a few cents a day and there are sites that earn thousands a month. It all depends on the niche and the traffic.

Unless you are in a niche that provides you with high costs per click, you can expect to make anywhere from ten cents a click to one dollar. There are niches that pay several dollars.

Affiliate

Another way to make money with your blog is to promote affiliate programs. When researching the topic for your blog investigate what affiliate programs are available.

There are many resources for affiliate products including Commission Junction, Clickbank, and hundreds of online stores that offer affiliate programs. For instance, if you have a pet site then possible affiliate programs would include Petsmart and PetCo.

Products

Another avenue for making money with your blog is to create and sell a product. Jeff Walker's Product Launch Formula walks you through each step involved for creating a product, preparing to sell it, and launching it to the public. If you want to sell your own product, investing in Jeff's product would be wise.

Selling a product, whether it is an ebook you acquired with resell rights or a product you made yourself, is usually a better way of making significant income. Done correctly, including researching what the public wants, you can usually make a better income selling your own product than depending on Adsense. There are always the exceptions.

Text Ads

This new type of advertising is still growing and evolving and the majority of ads being served are not graphical but text-based in nature. As a publisher, you can earn cash by selling ads on your blog yourself, or you can use a third party ad service and run their ads on your site. Once you've setup an account and placed the ads on your site, just sit back and watch the cash come in.

Referrals

Perhaps you are in a niche that would attract viewers who need a loan, a credit card, or debt relief. There are many companies that will pay you, the blog owner, a significant amount to refer people to their site to simply fill out a form. For each person you refer who fills out a form, you get paid as much as $45, or even more.

How Long Income Will Come

It's not going to happen overnight, but it shouldn't be long, maybe two or three months, before your blog is bringing in an income that covers your blogging expenses. A little longer, and each blog should make enough to pay some of your living expenses.

Depending on how diligently you pursue blogging as an income source, you could be making a significant amount of money within a year or two, especially if you create your own product.
