Outside it was cold and wet, flashes of lightning was the only thing to brighten the dark cloudy sky. Yet, inside the house it was warm and inviting, the fire place was just refilled with wood and a fire was burning. On the hunter green sofa sat a little boy no older then 10. He was restless and kept looking at the windows. He could only think of wanting to play outside, but the weather would not allow him to do so. His little face was slightly pale. Before the storm came in he did not feel well. Now, he was bound to stay inside and it made him restless. He glanced over his right shoulder, reading a book could be a way to entertain him. Slowly he arose of the sofa and walked towards the book case. His hand reached for the "Goosebumps series" he started to look towards the windows again and sighed. A goose bump book sure would fit the mood and weather. Slowly he grabbed one of the books and started walking back to the sofa. Just as he sat down he heard a loud boom followed by silence. Everything inside the house was dark, except by the burning fire from the fire place. Lightning had struck the light pole and the electricity went off. He felled a slight panic come up inside of him, because he was home alone and did not have much of an idea what to do. He looked at the fire and figured he could sit in front of it. With the book in his hand he tried to adjust to the change of light in the living room. He started to feel more at ease as he approached the fireplace. No longer in a panic he sat down and opened his book. The fire was warm and cozy. His book was filled with an exciting story which he was so deepened in that he had not noticed the lights came back on in the house. Until he heard the front door open up with a soft squeaky sound. His parents had returned home from a company meeting. He was well prepared for this, because they had told him a day before that they had to go to this meeting. Quickly he put the book down and ran to the door to greet his parents. They hugged him and asked him if he was scared for the weather change. Proudly he answered with, "just a little when the light went off, but I sat by the fire place and read a goose bump book". The lightning was scary and the rain bothered him but by reading a book he forgot everything around him. Time had went by faster then he thought it would, and the fire place sure was cozy to sit by.
Children's Stories Animals are a Responsibility Once upon a time there was a little cute black and white kitten wandering all alone in this world. He needed someone to take care of him, so he decided to find him a caring loving friend. Someone must want him meow meow he said determent to find a friend. He walked and walked then he noticed a little girl with a blue ribbon in her long black hair. Meow meow she must want to play, he ran up to the little girl and meowed again. The little girl looked at the kitten and melted instantly, she said "awe you are so cute" of course the kitten knew he had just made himself a friend, meow meow purrrrr purrrrr. The little girl did not need much encouragement and started calling her mother. Mamaaaaaaa, mammaaaaaaa look what I found. Her mother came and looked at her daughter shook her head and said" No, we can not keep him, having an animal is a great responsibility". Please mommy, please I can take care of him please mommy" Again her mother shook her head and said" This kitten might have a home already" The little girl started crying, mommy what if he doesn't have a home can we then keep him? We can look around and place flyer's in the neighborhood"Please Mommy Please" Her mother realized just by what her daughter had suggested that she might be more responsible then she had thought. "Well", said her mom. "If you are going to look for his home and really can not find it, then we can talk about it again". Days passed and no one claimed the black and white kitten. The little girl became more and more attached by the day. They had went to the store to buy some items the kitten needed. Special kitten food and a litter box, some toys and a flea collar. The kitten was all happy and very well taken care of. No one ever came forward to claim him and the little girl named him "Honey". Honey followed the little girl all over the place, knowing she would take good care of him. The only thing the little girl did not like to do was clean his litter box, but her mommy had told her having an animal is a great responsibility. Cleaning the litter box is a big responsibility but it has to be done. The little girl and kitten grew up happily ever after.
Caring for a kitten is more then just petting their furry hair and playing. Kittens need food and water. They also need to be played with and talked to. When, you get your way and receive an animal always make sure to take care of them in the appropriate way.
Fruits that Keep You Healthy Once upon a time, a green apple found a ripe yellow banana on the fruit dish. They did get along quite well. Wonder which one of us will be eaten first said the "banana" filled with rich potassium to keep your bones healthy and strong. It has to be me! the ripe banana said! The apple turned more green and replied "sorry banana although you are filled with potassium, I am the one that has all the anti-oxidants and yummy vitamin C. Every one knows that if you eat me every day, you will keep the doctor away. Well we will wait and see. The banana started to be prettier by the day with a sweet aroma appealing to anyone coming near him. The apple had a firm touch to it, and his aroma also sweet filling the air. A human child came along and watched the beautiful colors of the fruit on the fruit dish. Mmmm the child said sniffing with his nose the aroma out of the air. If, I call mama maybe she will let me eat that yummy looking apple? Or, should I just go ahead and eat the banana first and then call my mama for the apple? Thinking of which one to go for his hands reached for the banana. Slowly he peeled the yellow skin off. The inside of this fruit is so soft and filling. The green apple watched as his friend was gobbled up first. Wondering if the child would call his mom to eat him also. Then like lightning hit, he was picked up. Mamaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, mamaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa the child was calling out. Mamaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa may I eat this green apple? His mother calling from a back room replied "go right ahead". The green apple felled the cold water from the faucet hitting him as he was getting a firm wash. Then the child reached for a blue towel and rubbed the apple dry. He was ready to be eaten. Crunch, crunch...Mmmmm said the child. He rubbed his belly and stated the banana was great and my bones will stay nice and strong, but my mama told me if I eat an apple a day "the doctor will stay away"
The World in the Eyes of a Child Children look at the world in a different way then adults do. What is it that interests a child the most? Well, I am going to do a little experiment and sent my 8 year old son outside to make pictures of things he sees and likes. We will all see what the results are after he comes back, hopefully with my camera still intact lol.
![]() He loves swimming and figured that if he placed this on camera, I would get the hint to take them swimming today. ![]() He searched and searched for a spider web, what he did not realize is that it is hard to catch on camera. However this picture has different views for different viewers? ![]() He loves flowers, and said this flower is the most prettiest on the apartment comlex property. ![]() Trying to capture a hornet nest? Oh goodness my son is chasing hornets out there hope for him and for me that he doesn't really catch one. ![]() A broken sea shell, he loves any kind of sea shells and managed to capture one on camera. He had a lot of fun making these pictures, and it kept him busy for a little bit. This makes a great summer vacation activity and will also teach him how to handle a camera. One thing is for sure my 8 year old son loves nature. Hope you all enjoy the ways a child looks at this world...naturally this is only one view and other children have different views.
