Right now all the talk in PC gaming is DirectX 10 Graphics.
New hardware and new DX10 games have everyone buzzing
about a new era in PC gaming. But is all the celebration
a little bit premature?

Yes and No!

As with any new technology there is a lag time before
everything catches up, before the new technology is truly
integrated into the old, in this case gaming systems.
The big question on everyone's mind, (especially gamers)
how long will we have to wait before DX10 graphics delivers
the goods?

In other words, how long is the lag time before performance
(what you see in your games) catches up with the technology
DX10 Graphics will ultimately deliver?

For the ordinary consumer who is not a techie or even a
dedicated gamer all this fuss about X10 Graphics can be
downright confusing to say the least. Getting a handle
on even the simplest terminology can be a challenge.

First, you have to understand DirectX is a Microsoft
Windows technology that lets you have higher performance
in sound and graphics when playing games and/or watching
videos on your computer. In the past we have had different
versions of DirectX... DirectX 8, DirectX 9, and with
the introduction of Windows Vista we have DirectX 10.

DX10 Graphics gives us better performance and better
looking PC graphics with clearer, higher resolution
images with more shading and details. It simply means
better overall picture quality and performance; a forward
step to true realism in gaming.

At the heart of DirectX are APIs (Application Programming
Interfaces) which can be oversimplified as a bridge or
way for the hardware and the software to "talk" to each
other. These give you multimedia applications such as
(3-D) graphics acceleration, sound mixing, sound output
and other functions.

We are now seeing higher performing DirectX 10 Graphics
GPUs from top makers such as NVIDIA with their 8800 series,
including the NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTX and GeForce 8800 GTS.
These GPUs (Graphics Processing Units) will give you better
gaming with greater image quality and performance. HD DVD
and Blu-ray video playback is even possible.

Top gaming manufacturers like Rockdirect in the UK are
now all carrying DX 10 Graphics in their gaming machines.
You will also find many of the major gaming specialists
such as Alienware, Vigor, and Sager sporting DX 10 graphics.

Present or upcoming games that will have DirectX 10
support include Crysis, Shadowrun, World in Conflict,
and Company of Heroes.

Nor should you think DirectX 10 is solely for gamers;
the general PC user will also benefit from better
graphics and higher performance. For instance, the
ability to play and enjoy HD DVD and Blu-ray video
playback on their PCs.

Perhaps one of the greatest benefits of DirectX 10
Graphics is that it makes it much more easier for game
designers and developers to create games. For a more
detailed discussion of the technical side of this topic,
you can try Microsoft Game Developer Presentations here:

Or you can read this very good, detailed article on
"The Future of PC Gaming" by Tim Smalley presented here:

The question still remains - is DirectX 10 Graphics
deserving of all the hoopala or fuss?

Yes, but it will be a while before the true benefits
are fully enjoyed by gaming enthusiasts and the
general public. As more DX10 games are developed
and as more powerful gaming hardware become available,
the full potential of better gaming will hopefully
be reached.

But there may be some catching up to do before we
see the real benefits. Many gamers complain that
presently most hardware is more suited to DX9 Graphics.
Here's a very interesting and detailed discussion of
this issue done by X-bit Labs entitled:
"DirectX 10 Games vs. Contemporary Graphics Accelerators"

Implementing any new technology takes time, as old
technology is gradually replaced by the new. Just
compare it to say switching from VHS to DVD and now
to Blu-Ray, keeping ahead of the latest technology
takes some catching up time. DX9 Graphics will eventually
lose ground to DX10 Graphics.

So it may be a while before DirectX 10 Graphics delivers the
full potential of the ultimate gaming experience but
there is little doubt this technology is the future
of gaming. It may just take a little while before game
developers and hardware makers get all their guns locked
and loaded to give you that ultimate gaming experience.

DVD copy software gives you the ability to copy DVD's onto other DVD's. This software is a great item to have if you have a lot of DVD's and want a back up copy. DVD copy software needs to be installed on to your computer and works with your DVD drive. After installation, you now have the ability to copy one DVD to another. Having back up is necessary especially if you have a large collection of DVD's. If the original becomes scratched or damaged, you have the back up of the same one.

One very inexpensive software is called DVD Wizard Pro. Even though its cost is good, there are lots of steps in the program to actually copy an encrypted DVD. This is not for a newbie. Nevertheless, DVD Wizard Pro allows you to copy a DVD to a CD. That means you do not need a DVD burner to backup your DVD movies, instead you can use your CD burner to copy DVDs. And of course you can copy DVD to DVD using your DVD burner if you have one. Another cool feature of the software is that you can download a movie straight to the DVD. A standalone feature that distinguishes itself from most other DVD copy software is the ability to backup video game DVDs.

There is a exceedingly well-liked software labeled as 1CLICK DVD COPY, which is tremendously customer pleasant. This program makes it straightforward for anybody to copy their DVDs devoid of the unbearable annoyance of a succession of step by step course of action. 1CLICK DVD COPY, as the name entails, gets rid of the intricacies and facilitates you to complete a DVD backup job with just one snap of a button.

Currently one of the most significant benefits that you are almost certainly are concern with, is the capability to backup CSS-protected DVDs. Not every DVD backup application is produced in the same way. You have to make certain that you have the precise program for your desires. That is what hurt software similar to Roxio and Nero a great deal. They cannot copy CSS protected DVDs. Now the software that were talked about previously and an innovative program entitled DVD neXt COPY can copy those CSS protected DVDs with no difficulty. DVD neXt COPY is capable of even backing up those dented or smashed DVDs. Not just that, it backups the DVD in a faultless 1:1 DVD quality.

There are some many DVD copy software out there with several functions like converting a DVD into another format, best known as a DVD ripper. Repairing damaged DVD's and manipulating the read speeds to change the size of the DVD movie. Most are compatible with a huge majority of DVD burners. A few even work with Blu-ray and HD discs.

Permit me to recap that you must vigilantly investigate the diverse DVD backup software. Compatibility problems are the concern. You have to establish in advance which program is attuned with your OS and DVD drive. For instance, countless software will not perform well on a Windows Vista platform.

Do not download from free websites as you may also download viruses or spyware onto your computer. Make sure to check that your download says that is has been checked for viruses and spyware. The easiest and safest way to get DVD copy software is to buy the software instead of purchasing it through the download. You will have the software for backup as well.

In times past, you had to have a lot of money to build a website. Now, however, even though you have a shoestring budget, it's possible to create a website for almost next to nothing. If you want to test the waters on the Information Highway, now is a great time as it won't cost you a fortune.

One option you have in creating a website on a budget is to use free software. Free software is readily available on the Internet for just about any programming need you may have. Many of the scripting languages are also free. You can always go to sourceforge.net, which shows you a large amount of free software that is available to help you create your own website.

Free software is frequently used by the masses of people that utilize the Internet today. It is becoming the "norm", so to speak. If you go with a free program make sure it is very popular and has a good user forum, so you will have a place to ask questions.

Another option is to use an inexpensive program like XSitePro. Now this program will set you back about 200 dollars, but that really is economical when you compare it to other html editors. XSitePro was made with internet entrepreneurs in mind and makes building websites quick and easy.

One of the easiest and cost effective ways of building your website is to use one of the templates that come with your html editor software. You can always start with one of the free templates and then edit and tweak it to make it your own. You can also find many templates for sale online and they are usually reasonably priced.

In order for the world and your customers to see your website you will need to host it somewhere. There are many low-priced hosting companies available today. Since you are just starting out you probably do not need a lot of space or bandwidth.

Usually, you have to pay by the month to host your website. Now, however, there are some hosting companies that allow website owners to only pay for what he or she uses. This type of hosting works best for personal websites and not business sites though.

No matter what your budget is, make sure you think everything through before you get started. It's always best to do it once and do it right. The alternative is very frustrating and a waste of your precious time. So before you decide on the cheapest or free website builder make sure that it will do everything that you are looking for. It is also important to choose a website builder with excellent support and user forums, so when you get stuck, (and you will) you'll have a place to turn for help.

Computer hardware and software are two sides of the same coin. Computer hardware cannot function if it doesn’t have the necessary software to operate it. It will be just a piece of junk without the support of the required software. Computer Software is of 3 types:

System software

Programming software

Application Software

System Software helps in running the computer hardware and computer system. It helps to shield the programmer to a great extent from the details of the particular computer hardware or system being used, especially memory and other accessory devices like printers, readers, communications, displays, keyboards, displays,

Programming Software provides tools to assist a programmer to write computer programs and software using specialised language called programming language. These tools are merged by integrated development environment (IDE) and a programmer may not need to type multiple commands for compiling, debugging, tracing etc., because the IDE usually has an advance Graphical User Interface or GUI. Graphical User Interface acts as an interface between the computer and the user.

Application Software allows the user to carry out one or more specific tasks which are not computer related. These applications include business software, medical software, educational software, databases and computer games. Now- a- days almost every field uses some form of application software.

Computer Software has to be loaded into the computer’s storage system like the hard drive, RAM or the memory. The computer is able to execute the software only when it is loaded. Computers operate by executing the programs. There are numerous software manufacturers providing the software. Some of the well known brands include Microsoft, Adobe, Eurotalk, Symantec, Global software publishing etc. The software made by these brands is available on the net at competitive prices.
