Summer is in full swing and all I can dream about is a nice long vacation. It seems we work so hard every day but then our vacations are over before they begin. I am dreaming of Charleston South Carolina. It is a stunning city that is full of life and such rich history.

I look forward to going there. Where is your vacation paradise?

I love all of the neat point programs. I do coke rewards and also pepsi points. I saved enough points to get the retro pepsi beach towel. I ordered it one day and about 3 days later I received it. I love the nostalgic look of the towel with the old pepsi logo. I was very happy with the quality of the towel. I cashed in 70 pepsi points for this. It will be put to good use since we are always out on our boat!

Gotta love those rewards!

Depression is a rough thing. At some point in most peoples life they will face it.

This is the definition for depression:An illness that involves the body, mood, and thoughts, that affects the way a person eats and sleeps, the way one feels about oneself, and the way one thinks about things. A depressive disorder is not the same as a passing bad mood. It is not a sign of personal weakness or a condition that can be wished away. People with a depressive disease cannot merely pull themselves together.. Without treatment, symptoms can last for weeks, months, or years. Appropriate treatment, however, can help most people with depression. So why suffer?

If you feel like you might be depressed you should speak with your doctor. It is the best thing you can do for yourself and those you love.

Some symptoms of depression nclude loss of interest in activities that were once interesting or enjoyable, including sex; loss of appetite or overeating with weight gain; loss of emotional expression  a persistently sad, anxious or empty mood; feelings of hopelessness, social withdrawal; unusual fatigue, low energy level, a feeling of being slowed down; sleep disturbance with insomnia, early-morning awakening, or oversleeping; trouble concentrating, remembering, or making decisions; unusual restlessness or irritability; persistent physical problems such as headaches, digestive disorders,or pain that do not respond to treatment; thoughts of death or suicide or suicide attempts. Alcohol or drug abuse may be signs of depression.

It is a serious illness. If you or someone you know is experiencing it be sure to talk with your doctor and seek help. Life is too short to live like this.

was out walking around the yard today and noticed not only is one of my Hydrangeas blooming but two are. These bushes are about 3-4 years old and last year was the first year they flowered. Both were blue last year. So of course I was a bit confused when this year one was pink and the other was blue. Hydrangeas change colors with the soil.Their color depends on the acid and ph of the soil. These two bushes are side by side no more than 2 feet apart...

In most species the flowers are white but in some  can be blue, red, pink, or purple. In these  the exact color often depends on the phof the soil' soils rich in acid produce blue flowers, neutral soils produce very pale cream petals, and alkaline soils results in pink or purple. Hydrangeas are one of very few plants that accumulate aluminium. Aluminium is released from acidic soils, and in some species, forms complexes in the hydrangea flower giving them their blue colour.

So how did I get a pinkish purple flowering hydrangea as pictured above?

Right next to it is the blue.....

Both are equally beautiful but how can the soil change be so different when they are right next to each other?

I have been in search of the perfect vacuum cleaner for many years now. I have yet to find it I have been doing a lot of research and this is what I have found...

Canister designs have the motor and bag in a separate canister unit (usually mounted on wheels) connected to the vacuum head by a flexible hose. Although upright units have been tested as more effective (mainly because of the beaters), the lighter, more maneuverable heads of canister models are popular. Some upmarket canister models have "power heads", which contain the same sort of mechanical beaters as in upright units, although such beaters are driven by a separate electric motor.

Built-in or central vacuum cleaners move the suction motor and bag to a central location in the building and provide vacuum inlets at strategic places throughout the building: only the hose and pickup head need be carried from room to room; and the hose is  long, allowing a large range of movement without changing vacuum inlets. Plastic piping connects the vacuum outlets to the central unit. The vacuum head may either be unpowered or have beaters operated by an electric motor or air-driven motor. The dirt bag in a central vacuum system is usually so large that emptying or changing needs to be done less often, perhaps once per year. The central unit usually stays in "stand-by", and is turned on by a switch on the handle of the hose, or the unit powers up when the hose is plugged into the wall inlet. Such a unit also produces greater suction than common vacuum cleaners, because a larger fan and more powerful motor can be used when they are not required to be portable. Another benefit of a central vacuum system is that unlike a standard vacuum cleaner, which blows some of the dirt collected back into the room being cleaned (no matter how efficient its filtration), a central vacuum removes all the dirt collected to the central unit. Since this central unit is usually located outside the living area, no dust is recirculated back into the room being cleaned. In addition, because of the remote location of the motor unit, there is less noise in the room being cleaned than with a standard vacuum cleaner.

Robotic vacuum cleaners move autonomously, usually in a mostly chaotic pattern ('random bounce'). Some come back to a docking station to charge their batteries, and a few are able to empty their dust containers into the dock as well.

Small hand-held vacuum cleaners, either battery-operated or mains powered, are also popular for cleaning up smaller spills.

There are many different brands Eureka Dyson Oreck Dirt Devil... to name a few

Some are pretty expensive like the Oreck and Electrlux.

The dyson is pretty expensive too. I am very interested in the Rhoomba but I am wondering if it will get up pet hair also.

Does anyone have a perfect vacume if so what is it?
