Activation Code For Windows XP
Since people are selling used copies of Windows XP, what I haven't seen addressed is how do you use the Activation Key if this product has already been used. If you don't have a Valid Activation Key for this product, you will have a locked up computer after 30 days, unless you purchase a NEW, VALID Activation Key!

What a jump back!
My new XP computer is just filled with garbage directory on top of garbage directory on top of directory. I expect that Vista will further the tradition that Bill Gates began and is extending. It's not that I understand there is a choice? I try to live in the real world that Micro-soft seems to be doing their very best to undermine with a new and worse operating system every couple of years. I suppose Gates is making more and more and more while he rips the world off, more and more and more. It is a disgrace to the USA and the earth. I think we could put Mr. Gates in prison, where he belongs, and reclaim our world. Thankyou.

Poorly designed operating system
The only reason i bought YET ANOTHER (cha ching, thank you BG) copy of this operating system is for my mother in law to use (she refuses to switch) all because I upgraded her 4 yr old computer's motherboard and cpu. Hers had a non-branded OEM version in it. 2 years ago i downloaded and installed Ubuntu and not long after Sam Linux on my system and I haven't looked back.
Windoze is nothing but a money drain. I refuse to even put any M$ web browser or email client on her windoze machine for security reasons. Yea Xp is great if you like your hard drive constantly spinning, requires registry cleaning, antivirus, firewall, anti-spyware software, reformats every couple of years. Yea you can get all free versions, but god help you if you start using more than 1/2 your hard drive space AND GATES gets to tell you what to do with it and use it for. With sam linux I am up to 80% hard drive usage and it is STILL as quick as the day I loaded it (two years). Can you imagine buying a stereo for your car and being told you can't take it out and install it in your new car, that you HAVE to buy another one? Oh yea, that would work.
For everyday web browsing/email and if you HAVE to play games on your computer use Windoze. If your smart use a mac or BSD/Linux for everyday use and get a game console to play games.

Positives and negatives
The product is visually better but you have to relearn where things are.
Not everything comes over from version 2003 intact, and as usual they have changed enough to add another layer of frustration.

Read several of the other reviews to get the flavor of the new Office.
OneNote is a new product that I haven't started to learn (yet).

Being able to license on 3 machines is a strong positive.

Works for me
I am hardly a Word expert, far from being proficient in all phases of using all the tools and skills of one who Word processes constantly, but I can say I like the new MS Office suite. The tutorials are quite helplful and informative, and if I need help, I call on my wife, who is an Office guru. She thinks MS Office 2007 is to be recommended, also. All in all-worthe the upgrade, especially if you are using Office 2000 as we were.

Bug Free so far
No complaints. The interface is taking some time to get used to, after spending so much time on Office 2003. Overall, I'd say that this is an excellent product at an excellent price. I would have given it a 5-star rating, but to get that, the suite should have also come with Outlook.

Friendly Spyder!
Don't be fooled by the inexpensive price - this Spyder will calibrate your display. Since my LCD monitor was fairly new I had been able to get colors out of my printer that were similar to my display. But now that I've calibrated the monitor, my HP 7360 printer duplicates my display on my Windows XP/SP2 system. This product will not calibrate your printer (which I knew before I bought it) but it works much better than software only products. In addition, the accompaning software was not difficult to install and the combination hardware spyder and software is simple to use.

Not for everyone - especially if you are color technical
Lacks Flexability- It adjusts screen to Kelvin 6500 (yellow). For most, especially if you are into photo editing, that is far too warm. I personally like about 5500. The result is that it makes the screen look warmer than what the photos are, or when printed. I have contacted ColorVision, and there is no flexability on this unit. You have to move up to a more expensive package to have the flexability.

User Friendly
The Spyder2 express is extremely easy to use with instructions that are very easy to follow. I use it on a new 22' LCD. I did notice an immediate improvement in the colors on my monitor especially in the skin tones. I do a lot of photography and I recently sent out for some test prints and they came back with good results in relation to what I saw on my monitor. The important thing to remember with photography is that a print reflects light and a monitor emits light so they will never be an exact match. Also are you incorporating printer profiles into your editing? I would recommend this product and I also like it because the software is upgradeable through the website while using the same hardware. I only gave it four stars because I know there are better models out there but at a much higher price. It all depends on your budget and how critical your color accuracy is. Hint: If your color accuracy is that critical you probably aren't reading this and already own a much higher end model than this.

By all means try before you buy!
I'm so glad that I installed a trial version of Acrobat 8 Professional prior to buying it. Luckily, I did not need to uninstall a working version of the product in order to install the trial version, unlike the previous reviewer. The program crashed at least a dozen times during my first hour of use, and I wasn't trying to do anything complicated. For example, the program simply disappeared without a trace when I pressed the Settings button during a Save as... dialog or attempted to Edit -> Preferences for HTML export.

Great must-have product
Creating a pdf from any other format is almost a must capabiity, however I was a bit disappointed Adobe imbedded itself everywhere. Good from a usability standpoint, but ask me first if I want to do that. In all, no problems with the product, in installation or use.
Window Media Center, Gateway laptop w/ AMD Turion64 & 1 gig RAM.

FUBAR
Software that repeatedly crashes and requires multiple reloadings deserves NO STARS, but amazon does not allow that option, so this gets 1 star.

Having owned versions 4, 5, 6 and now 8, I've watched this product add features, and with them glitches. Would it be a great product if it worked? Yes. Unfortunately, it crashes, and crashes and crashes.

Adobe has already issued two update fixes, but still it crashes.

Not good.

UPDATE: Since writing the above, I have purchased a new HP desktop and Acrobat generally works on it. The major exceptions are the actions listed under the Document tab, especially Reduce File Size, which simply crashes as soon as you click on it. For anyone who stores large files, this is a significant defect.

My old computer (a Gateway) was about five years old. Both computers run on Windows XP, so the operating system is not the cause of the crashes.
