One day, you might decide that you want to end an auction early. Before you do, though, you should consider why you want to do it: cancelling auctions upsets buyers and upsets eBay, and there might be a better to way to get what you want.

I Want to Change my Listing.

If you just want to revise your listing, you don?t always need to end it. For listings that have more than 12 hours left to run and haven?t received any bids, you can revise almost everything. You can remove the Buy it Now price or reserve price, change the duration of the listing, or add listing upgrades.

If the listing already has one or more bids, then you can still add upgrades, or add to the description. You add more pictures too, if you want to. Once the listing gets into its last 12 hours, however, what you can do becomes far more limited, even if it has no bids: you can only really add to the description.

It?s a very bad idea, by the way, to cancel one listing and ask bidders to bid on another listing for the same item instead. The chances are they?ll be annoyed with you, and won?t bother.

The Item is No Longer for Sale.

Perhaps you sold the item to someone else, you lost it or it got broken. Whatever happened, if you no longer have the item to sell, you should remove your listing ? in fact, this is just about the only situation when eBay allow you to.

However, you need to make sure you get the listing removed quickly ? if you leave it to the last 12 hours, eBay will refuse to let you remove it, whatever has happened. This might seem cruel, but it?s there to stop people from backing out in the last few hours because they want to try again for a better price.

So How Do I End My Listing Early?

You can do it at this page: http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?EndingMyAuction. Just type in the item number and hit ?Continue?.

Now, be very careful. The option you almost certainly want to choose is ?Cancel bids and end listing early?, NOT ?Sell item to high bidder and end listing early?. You?ll be asked to choose a reason why you ended the listing, and then it will end. Your bidders will be emailed to let them know what happened.

Note that ending a listing early because it looked like it wasn?t going to get a good price is against the rules, and eBay could come after you and get upset.

An Interview With Nicoals Darvas 1975 by Mark Crisp

The only interview with Nicolas Darvas in the World

Hi Nic. It?s a pleasure to meet you in person. Thank you for agreeing to do this interview. Welcome and please do feel comfortable.

Nic: Thanks for having me and it?s always my pleasure to discuss stocks and the stock market.

Nic would you mind if we get right down to talking about the stock markets? I can?t wait to pick your brains on this subject. In fact, I?ve been waiting for many years to do this.

NIC: Sure..that?s what I am here for.

OK. After your amazing success in the late 1950?s and after publishing ?How I Made $2 Million In The Stock Market? how did life change for you?

NIC: It was an amazing period in my life. I went from $25,000 which was everything I had at the time to a multi-millionaire in quite short length of time. But I was amazed at the publicity I stirred up in Time Magazine in 1959. I never knew there would be such a big interest in a solo stock trader. Then the success of my book was another major accomplishment in my life. It sold over 400,000 copies in the first year you know. Sure I was much richer than I dreamed I ever would be by 1960 but my life never changed. I carried on dancing and investing. I was able to buy more properties throughout the world with my financial success. For that I was grateful. As a person it never changed me one bit.

Glad to hear it Nic. I got that impression. You seem a very sincere down to earth guy. Do you think this attitude helped you succeed in the stock market?

NIC: Maybe it?s not for me to say. I never got too down about losses. It never bothered me if I was out of the market for months at a time. And because my system dictated when I got out of a winning stock I never got anxious or excited about hose winners. Looking back, I suppose it was quite remarkable how I could go from $25,000 to over $2 Million with such calmness. That?s me. After the massive success in the late 1950?s I took a portion of my profits out of the stock market and invested in property. I felt there would be no point of great success if I didn?t see something tangible for it. After that I felt like I was merely participating in a game. If I followed the rules I won money. When I broke them I lost. My challenge was following the rules.

So you admit to still making mistakes in the stock market?

NIC: Of course I do. It?s very hard not to try and cut corners even when it?s your own ultra money making method. Occasionally I get swayed. Break the rules. Lose money. But it isn?t very often theses days.

What?s the biggest question you always get asked when traders find out you are Nicolas Darvas?

That?s easy. Can I have your autograph and can you borrow me some money.

Ha,ha. Really?

Nic: No. Just kidding you. Hm.. the two most asked question I get? Let?s think. They would probably be?..

We all wish that our credit cards were interest free all the time. How much pleasure would it be to know that what you spend is what you pay back and there would be no interest to pay. What is happening is the credit card companies are fighting it out to see who can get the most customers and one way is to offer us 0% interest deals.

The credit card companies are offering introductory offers including 0% on balance transfers and purchases for 6 or 9 months, so everything you buy is interest free how great is that! These offers are becoming more popular by the month, the credit card companies realise we will go with these credit cards first and that interest free deals for any period of time is a great way to pull in the customers.

Break free from your high interest credit card?

All credit cards can be interest free if you pay off your full balance on time and at the end of every month, but most of us cannot afford to do this. When the APR comes into force, usually a typical rate of 15-20% will be charged. There are however some better rates about if you are willing to search for them, including a rate of 9% and maybe even lower. Always check what your rate will be once the introductory period is over.

Many credit card holders are using the 0% deals to their advantage. The term ?Rate Tart? is used to describe people who transfer their balance from one card on to a credit card that has the 0% deal. This will cut out the interest payments on their existing card, however, you really have to keep on top of this especially if you have more than one credit card, as you do not want to get confused as to when and where your balance transfers are due.

Take advantage of the 0% deals?

There has never been a better time to take advantage of these great 0% deals with the big companies fighting for your business. If you?re using the 0% deals for transferring your balance and are intending to use the card after the interest free period, double check the interest rate once the introductory period is over as it may be higher than the card you have.

? Switch your balance to a 0% deal
? Check the APR that will be charged when the 0% deal is over
? Start searching for a new credit card 4-6 weeks before your existing deal runs out
