Gues SONY is not good in keeping secrets as images of their new PSP Go leaks and making their rounds well ahead of the E3 announcement.

The PSP go will arrive in stores for folks living in North America this October 1, while Europe/PAL territories and Asian countries will get theirs a month later, retailing for $249 and an equivalent amount in Euros, of course. As stated earlier, the PSP go will co-exist with the PSP-3000 in retail stores as gamers as well as those who are curious learn to decide which is the best possible portable gaming system for them.

What makes the PSP go different is it won’t come with any UMD drive - instead, it will ditch all disc-based content by catering to those who want on-demand entertainment, featuring 16GB of internal memory as well as the ability to receive digital entertainment via the PlayStation Network. Sounds fine and dandy, but what about less developed markets where over-the-air download speeds are excruciatingly slow? Guess those folks will just have to settle for regular PSP-3000s.

The new PSP go include an easy sliding panel alongside original applications, a game sleep function that lets you operate the XrossMediaBar while suspending gameplay for the moment, Bluetooth connectivity and a wide range of accessories to go along with it.

Chinavision's CVFH-N03-4G may not have the catchiest titles, but it does boast an impressive array of emulators to satisfy your on-the-go retro gaming needs -- although we imagine those tiny shoulder buttons would prove irksome after a while.

Support includes NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, Game Boy Advance, SNK Neo-Geo and Capcom arcade systems CPS1 and CPS2 -- sorry, no love for Atari 2600 or Commodore 64, here -- all accessible through a menu that in no way, shape, or form resembles Sony's Xross Media Bar. It also plays MP3, MPEG5, FLAC, WMV, AVI, and a few other audio / video formats, and reportedly can function as an e-book reader with text to speech capabilities -- y'know, just in case there weren't enough entities peeved at it being a beacon for ROMs.

As for hardware, we're looking at a 2.8-inch QVGA LCD, 4GB internal memory, a mini-SD card slot, and AV out for the television. Buy one for $87.31, three for $83.82 apiece, or if you're feeling generous, pick up 50 for a more generous, undisclosed discount.

It seems like its a dead end for the NEED FOR SPEED SERIES.

AS Electric Playground has reported that Electronic Arts has cancelled development of future titles of Need for Speed series. In response, EA spokesperson gave a generic response of not commenting on market rumors.

The comment received on this news was "We're working through a process on people, products, and facilities at EA and don't have any announcements today."

Electronics Arts has also reportedly shelved its plans of opening a new game development studio at Vancouver due to poor holiday sales and global economic recession.

The company recently scaled down their revenue and earning expectations for the fiscal year 2009.

EA's latest NFS installment - Need for Speed UnderCover - has received mixed and mostly cold response from the gamer community and audience. It won't be surprising if EA adopts Rockstar Games' strategy and introduce their titles at more affordable rates. Actually, that might just work in terms of sales.

EA is yet to come out with an official statement on Vancouver Studio franchisee lay-off.

It appears the Gears of War franchise is bigger than I thought as I found not one, but two products that are Gears of War related today.

First is the Gears of War themed Zune, which not only sports specially designed graphics on the frame, but it comes pre-loaded with 240 pieces of Gears of War and its sequel’s media including “the original game soundtrack, behind-the-scenes videos, game trailers, concept art galleries, and more”. All of this content is exclusive to this Microsoft MP3 Player.

Of course, if you really want to live Gears of War, you can always purchase the Lancer rifle, a virtual prop from the game now turned real. As you can see by the fake blood on the saw edge of this, this is no children’s toy. However, it does have one fun feature as it can vibrate, and even has a chainsaw sound.

The Gears of War 2 game is slated for release on November 7th, and this is the same day the Gears of War Zune is planned to be released. It should be about $280 for this special edition.

As for the Lancer rifle, it costs about $140, or $210 with a limited edition of Gears of War 2. It should be available sometime next month.
