1. Don’t modify the Google Adsense HTML code

2. Don't ask your friends or visitors to click on your Google ads

3. Don't click on your own ads - Google is much smarter than you think.

4. Don't place ads in pop-up windows, error pages or even empty pages.

5. Don't start an "adsense page" or "home loan page" website

- You will never make money out these "made-for-adsense-only" websites

6. Don't syndicate full content. Else, your ads will receive minimal attention.

7. Don't waste your money on high-paying adsense keywords lists.

- Don’t waste your time searching for high-paying adsense

- It is an outdated trick. Website visitor are smarter than you think.

8. Do read & follow the TOS of Adsense

- If u cheat, they ban you!

- U can never get cheque issued under ur name again!

- Eg. They say 1 Link Unit per page. You should not put 2 link Unit on the same page!

9. Do write on topics what you are passionate about.

10. Do place your ads above “short” articles, CTR is the best

11. Do place your ads in the middle of your “long” articles, CTR improves.

- Visitors read the long content and then they will look for more resources

12. Do place Ads without background color and borders. It always perform better.

- Make the border color and background color same as your page background color.

13. Do click on the link unit topics if you want to click on your Adsense J

- But don’t click on any Google ads on the resulting page :P

14. Do put up to 3 adsense units on a page

- Try putting 1 large skyscraper on the right navigation sidebar.

- 2 AdSense for search boxes, 1 adlink unit

- and 1 referral button per product

15. Do focus on your first few lines of your content.

- Its an important factor determining what Ads are served on your webpage.

16. Do select the setting to open Google Adsense search box results in a new browser window

- so you won't lose your visitors

- Click the Open search results in a new browser window checkbox

- and this add target="google_window" to your form tag.

17. Do place your search box in the top right corner.

18. Do use URL channels to determine performance of individual pages.

- I track my most popular pages with Google Analytics, Statcounter

- I create a channel for each of the URL @ Google Analytics.

19. Do track your Adsense Clicks with Google Analytics

- For low CTR pages, try changing titles or adding more content to get better focused ads

20. Do block low paying advertisers with Filters.

21. Do focus and improve that content

22. Do use RSS to Email service. Not everyone has a RSS reader.

- Subscribe to services like FeedBlitz, Bloglet or Rmail to let users subscribe to your blog by email.

23. Do take action. Browse no more, not until you finish the improvement above.

- There are too many info out there. You have to start somewhere and stop browsing and reading!

- Analysis Paralysis....where you can’t make any forward progress because you bog yourself down in details, researching, browsing and reading...reading...reading..reading.... gosh! Wake up man!
