The Office is one of those great shows you can catch on TV late at night, and you expect it to be on when nothing else is. The Office has an easy to watch and comical story line about a companies employees who have found out about a rumor that the company is going to close their office. Their manager who believes he is Gods gift to the office world, and knows just about everything there is to know about, and this includes women, laughter and of course the running of any office. There are many things in this series that have been drawn from true life experience.
 
Plot Summary
The Office was created by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant, originally for British television, and was adapted and co produced for American television by Greg Daniels’ Deedle-Dee Productions and Reveille Productions.
The American television series portrays the daily working lives of the office employees of a branch of Dunder Mifflin Paper Company. The first season begins with all the main characters and the basic plot of the story, which is the companies downsizing and the Scranton branch where the series is based is the branch that faces possible closure. However Michael, the manager, disagrees with the rumours of down sizing or possible closure to keep up the office morale. More plots emerge and lives become entangled through the next three series, making a total of four series at present.

Main Characters and Cast
The regional manager of the Dunder Mifflin Scranton Branch is Michael Scott played by Steve Carell. His assistant regional manager is Dwight Schrute played by Rainn Wilson. Jim Halpert the Sales Representative is played by John Krasinski, while the Receptionist is Pam Beesly played by Jenna Fischer, Jim and Pam are the offices central love interest. Then there is the Temporary Worker Ryan Howard is played by B J Novak. Other cast members include: Angela Kinsey, Oscar Nuñez and Brian Baumgartner who are all in accounting.

Reviews
Before its first airing, the New York Daily News called it "so diluted there's little left but muddy water," and USA Today  called it a "passable imitation of a miles-better BBC original." A Guardian Unlimited  review panned its lack of originality, stating, "(Steve Carell) just seems to be trying too hard ... Maybe in later episodes when it deviates from Gervais and Merchant's script, he'll come into his own. But right now he's a pale imitation."
Reviews became more positive as the second season progressed. Come December, Time magazine remarked, "Producer Greg Daniels created not a copy but an interpretation that sends up distinctly American work conventions ... with a tone that's more satiric and less mordant. ... The new boss is different from the old boss, and that's fine by me." Entertainment Weekly  echoed these sentiments a week later, stating, "Thanks to the fearless Steve Carell, an ever-stronger supporting cast, and scripts that spew American corporate absurdist vernacular with perfect pitch, this undervalued remake does the near impossible — it honours Ricky Gervais' original and works on its own terms."
Time magazine's James Poniewozik named it one of the Top 10 Returning Series of 2007, ranking it at Number 6.

If you love shows with unpredictable endings and amazing actors, House M.D. really is the show to watch. It is packed full of drama and surprise endings in each episode, and each character brings something special to the series. I love watching House M.D each week to see the wittiness and sarcasm that Dr. House has, and I love seeing how his staff gets tricked into playing a game to figure out what is wrong with each patient. I also love how education the show can be, since it portrays characters with rare diseases that are hard to diagnose.

House M.D. takes place at Princeton-Plainsboro hospital in New Jersey, and revolves mainly around Dr. House and his team of diagnosticians. They tend to patients with hard to diagnose diseases, and try to figure out how to cure them of illnesses that can be deadly. A story line involving characters from other departments is also included in the show, including members of House’s old team, his best friend from the oncology department, and the hospital administrator whom House once had a fling with. House M.D. has been on for a total of four seasons so far, and was created by David shore in 2004.

Dr. House is the main character of the show, and is played by Hugh Laurie. He is a very sarcastic doctor who loves to play games with his staff, but he makes up for his bad attitude with his extensive knowledge of infectious diseases. His best friend, James Wilson, is the head of the oncology department and played by Robert Sean Leonard. Although they are two completely different people, House and Dr. Wilson have a great friendship that could never be spoiled by House’s sarcastic attitude. Dr. Lisa Cuddy, played by Lisa Edelstein, is the Chief hospital administrator and Dean of Medicine. Although she is easily annoyed by House on a regular basis, she is always willing to have his back because of his strong knowledge of the medical field. Eric Foreman, played by Omar Epps, is the only member of houses team that has been there from the beginning, although he did resign but was rehired by Dr. Cuddy to remain a member of the team. House’s old team members are still employees within the hospital, and sometimes find themselves stuck in the middle of one of House’s mind games.

House has been nominated for and won several respectable awards since its first episode, including two golden globes and Emmy awards. It is currently the most watched scripted drama on the Fox television network, and attracted over 29 million viewers for the episode that premiered after Super Bowl XLII. It is ranked one of the top primetime television shows currently running, and has received great reviews from some of the best television critics. Entertainment weekly says “We got more than we could have hoped for from this cold but sturdy House” and “Dr. House hit his stride this season.” Not only has House M.D. impressed viewers each week with new storylines and unpredictable endings, but has also impressed critics with both new episodes and season DVD releases.

Among The Riches many appeals is that it is daring enough to feature the subculture of the nomadic and thieving Irish Travelers through the Malloys, a family of con-artists that soon find themselves wittingly trapped in the biggest lie of their lives—as a normal family in wealthy suburbia. The show provides a funny yet scary peek into the 'what if' of assuming another identity in order to live larger. Another good thing is that such a complicated situation is made believable by the shows' leads, British actors Eddie Izzard and Minnie Driver.

The Riches ran its first season in 2007 and was instantly a success with the critics and the ratings. It was created by Dmitry Lipkin, with the pilot co-written by Eddie Izzard and directed by Carl Franklin, and shown on FX. A second season is slated to air towards the second quarter of 2008.

The Riches follows the Malloys, a family who has lived most of their lives in an RV, roving the country to perpetrate one con after another. Because of some squabbles with other members of their Traveler clan, the Malloys are on the run from their own people. Then comes the opportune coincidence of them witnessing a car crash that kills a wealthy couple who were about to move to a new community in Louisiana. The Malloys decide to steal the identities of Doug and Cherien Rich, moving in to their new home and starting the 'normal life' pretense. Of course, the tension brought about by such a situation is made tauter by the fact that family living the lie is a family of hardcore misfits. Worse, less than half of them actually want to be there.

Wayne Malloy a.k.a. Doug Rich is played by accomplished stand-up comic Eddie Izzard, who brings natural comedy as well as credible drama into the role. To some extent derided as a ‘half buffer’ or halfbred Traveler by his wife, he is the one most intent on settling into the Riches’ lifestyle. Minnie Driver plays Dahlia Malloy, a recent parolee and drug addict who is considered ‘royalty’ in their clan. She is more hesitant about her new identity as Cherien Rich. Even their three children, Cael (played by Noel Fisher), Di Di (Shannon Marie Woodward) and Sam (Aidan Mitchell) have to adjust to their new lives as ‘buffers’ who enroll in a private school. Cael is more like his mother, a Traveler traditionalist who is skeptical about their new situation. Di Di, on the other hand, sympathizes more with her father, and even begins a relationship with the boy next door. Sam, the youngest, is portrayed as a rather oblivious but artistic cross-dressing boy.

There are plenty of reasons why The Riches is enjoyable. A lot of critics credit the show’s success to the lead actors’ performances. Maureen Ryan of the Chicago Tribune calls Eddie Izzard "a revelation," while San Francisco Chronicles Tim Goodman writes, "Eddie Izzard and Minnie Driver put on a tour de force of acting…. Both Izzard and Driver are phenomenal, but the three young actors more than hold their own." Alessandra Stanley of the New York Times sums up that the show "is so compelling it deserves to be a hit." Indeed, it does.

If you are a comic book fan, Heroes really is the show to watch. It is packed full of adventure, but still has an interesting story line that almost anyone can enjoy. With several story lines occurring all in one episode, I can’t stand missing even one episode since so much happens in just one hour. I love the different characters and the special abilities they posses, and it really interests me to see how some characters learn how to use their abilities for good rather than bad. The cliff hanger endings really keep me anxious, and I can’t wait for season three to start to see what is going to happen next.

Heroes first premiered in September of 2006, and attracted over 14 million viewers the first season. A second season started in 2007, but was cut short due to the writer’s strike that is still going on. It was created by Tim Kring, and directed by various directors ranging from Greg Beeman to Jeannot Szwarc. The plot was designed to be similar to the stories of comic books, but also has several story lines built into the plot. Each season takes ordinary people, who wake up with special powers, and follows them to see how each one deals with and learn how to control their individual powers. Special abilities range from being able to heal from any accident to being able to fly, travel through time, and even read minds of people close by.

The Heroes show consists of a huge cast, all of which have separate story lines that somehow relate to one another. Claire Bennet, who is played by Hayden Panettiere, is a cheerleader who moved from Odessa Texas all the way to California. She has a regenerative ability, and can heal from almost any injury. Her adopted father, Noah Bennet played by Jack Coleman, works for a company called Primatech Paper Company, which is actually a cover up company for the organization that investigates those with special powers. Zachary Quinto players Sylar, who is a serial killer, determined to strengthen his natural power by killing others with abilities as well.

He killed the father of Monhinder Suresh, played by Sendhil Ramamurthy, who is an Indian professor who travels to New York to investigate the death. His blood has special antibodies that can cure those infected with the virus that cause their special abilities. Along with many other characters with ranging special abilities, Heroes has a cast that really keeps the show interesting.

Not only did heroes bring in more viewers than any other NBC premier in the past five years, but it has received high rating from several credible sources. According to People Weekly, the show is fun, and a little freaky. Many say you don’t have to be a comic book or science fiction fan to find interest in this show, and it is believed to grow into a memorable show with a very dedicated fan base. Heroes has been nominated for a wide variety of awards, and has won a People’s Choice Award, Future Classic Award, a Saturn award, and has been nominated for several others.
