Tisca is Enjoying The Variety

You are back in Bollywood in a big way now...

I don’t know about being back in Bollywood, but yes, I’ve been lucky enough to be in one of the year’s most awaited releases Taare Zameen Par. It’s such a fabulous story and everyone connected with the film has given their heart and soul to it. My own role is really challenging and gives me an opportunity to explore such a range of emotions. I am very happy with how it has all turned out.

A few years ago you made your debut as heroine opposite Ajay Devgan. What went wrong after that?

Mostly I would say that I was not prepared. Also the kind of cinema that was being offered to me was not really my cup of tea. I am so happy to now be doing exactly the kind of work I want. In the
interim, I put my entire soul into bettering my craft as an actor. It feels great to have that acknowledged.

What are the changes you see in Hindi cinema since your debut film?

These are very exciting times... unconventional scripts, a new level of professionalism and investment in cinema from the biggest corporate houses. This allows for the possibility of more experimentation in terms of narratives and style. We have to now not be anxious about women-centered stories and, of course, make our presence felt on the global scene beyond the Indian Diaspora.

What about casting couch that’s often spoken of in the industry?

People will behave with you the way you want them to. Ultimately everyone makes their own choices. As far as I am concerned the only couch I know is the one I bought for my living room!

Who are your favourite actors?

There are so many interesting actors and it is very difficult to choose... Aamir of course, also Saif, Akshay Kumar, Irrfan and Konkona. I find Deepika Padukone very pretty.

What’s the real Tisca like?

It’s very difficult to reduce oneself to a ‘soundbyte.’ As an actor one is always exploring facets of oneself, exposing one’s vulnerability, one’s strengths, it’s about journeys, not destinations. I hope I am still evolving and therefore cannot have a ‘real’ me to talk about. Maybe friends and
family can answer this question better.

What after Taare Zameen Par?

Everyone is looking forward to seeing Aamir’s directorial debut. The buzz is that TZP looks fresh and exciting. After TZP, I am doing Nandita Das’ directorial debut. I am currently rehearsing a very interesting play. I am also co-writing a script with a friend. I am enjoying the variety that there is in my professional life at the moment. Not a moment of boredom.

GUFF SHUFF

'Nach Baliye' Ends On A Controversial Note

Dance-based reality show 'Nach Baliye' ended on a controversial note in Mumbai, as family and friends of the loser pair cried foul play.

The runner-up paid of item girl Rakhi Sawant and Abhishek Awasthi walked out. The controversy centred round the rules which depended on fans' votes which could be mobilised.

Months of hard practice finally paid off as actors Aamir Ali and Sanjeeda Sheikh were declared as the winners of 'Nach Baliye-3'.

In a neck-to-neck battle, Aamir and Sanjeeda danced their way to victory outshining the pair of Rakhi and her beau Abhishek.

Aamir said: "I wasn't going to participate in Nach Baliye as I am not a dancer and Nach Baliye is a dance competition. Reaching this place from scratch is like a dream come true. I always told Sanjeeda that if she gets a good partner she will win Nach Baliye for sure."

Aamir-Sanjeeda have been extremely popular and it was their fans' votes that helped the couple clinch the title.

Hari Awasthi, elder brother of Abhishek Awasthi, said: "It is a game in which one losses and one wins. Amir Ali and Sanjeeda have won this contest as their performance has been appreciated and whole country has voted for them."

Bollywood hunk Salman Khan declared the winners. The judges included choreographer Vaibhavi Merchant, Director David Dhawan and actress Isha Koppikar.

The winning pair of Aamir and Sanjeeda walked away with the grand prize of Rs 20 lakh and a car autographed by all the pairs and celebrity guests on the show.

To remove any obstacle that stands in the way of a sale. Most of us has at one time or another been ripped off by some unscrupulous individual or a business of dubious character. Because of this negative experience, we've become fearful of it happening again and so we're very careful about with whom we do business.

Your prospects are no different. They fear being taken in some way. This fear often paralyzes them from making a buying decision. If the fear is too strong, they simply run for cover and avoid the potential pain. Your job as a marketer is to remove all the obstacles that may be stopping people from buying. By eliminating, or at least significantly minimizing all the hurdles, you are in effect eliminating or reducing the effect of a prospect's
