Beautiful Skin Characteristics

Every woman desires beautiful skin which is also healthy skin. Here we take a look at what makes up beautiful skin that every woman dreams of having.

As you may know, skin is a protective film surrounding our body which prevents us from absorbing a lot of the harsh conditions from the atmosphere. Everyone's skin is different and each person has a different sensitivity level for their skin. So we obviously need to take care of and maintain our skin to get that soft, smooth and beautiful look that everyone wants.

1. Soft and Smooth Skin

Beautiful skin is soft and smooth.

Smooth skin is probably the number one qualification but not everyone is blessed with such smoothness from birth. Even if your skin was perfect from birth, without maintenance and skin care, it will be difficult to maintain or work towards great skin.

While it is true that beautiful skin is a gift, it is totally up to you as to whether your skin will be even more beautiful or not.

2. Moist Skin

Beautiful skin is moist.

Moist skin is related to sebum which is the fancy word for skin oil. One of the components in sebum is NMF (Natural Moisturizing Factor). NMF makes sure that the outer layer of the skin (epidermis) remains intact and keeps the outer skin smooth and moist. Additionally, sebum prevents the outer layer from losing water. It helps to retain 10-20% of water to moisten the skin and keep it shiny.

3. Firm Skin

Beautiful skin is firm.

Firmness is related to the water contained in the inner skin. Components of collagen and elastic tissue in the inner skin is combined with water to create that firmness in our skin. In other words, we can have firm skin when the inner skin properly functions by containing sufficient water.

4. No Pigmentation of the Skin

Beautiful skin is not burnt skin.

When our skin is exposed to ultraviolet rays, it turns dark as it becomes pigmented due to melanin. At a younger age, it's easier for our skin to recover but as we get older, it definitely becomes harder for our skin to revert back to its original condition. That is why doctors and other professionals recommend not to expose your skin for long hours under direct sunlight. Tans can be sexy but it's also a monster against healthy and beautiful skin.

5. Clean Outer Skin and Pores

Beautiful skin starts with clean skin.

Cleanliness is the basis of beautiful skin. Dirt and/or secretion in pores is the main cause of skin trouble. We can maintain clean and pure skin with strict deep cleansing and skin care.

In future posts, we'll examine and provide details and guides on how to achieve each of the 5 points.

Pregnancy is a great time for numerous women and something that they will gladly go through many times over. It is an extraordinary experience to be able to feel another individual inside of you growing and anticipate the time till you can give birth to them. But like with anything there are some things that we would rather not experience during the pregnancy.

Besides the measure of weight we have to gain the one thing that we would love to avert are stretch marks. These hideous spots are made by the quantity of weight that we are putting on in such a small measure of time. It seems that there is no possible way to avert them - but there is in fact a method that you have the ability to do to help forbid them or at least keep them from creating large amounts of them.

The easiest thing you have the ability to do is to purchase a stretch mark cream that is predominantly created of cocoa butter. This is a particular ingredient that has been proven to thin and prevent the visual aspect of stretch marks in both men and women. In order for it to work properly you must be devoted to applying it to your stomach each night and at times each morning.

When you utilize it, your skin soak it up - which will step-up the amount of moisture that it is getting. The more moisture that the skin has been given the less likely the stretch marks are going to develop. Ensure that you utilize the stretch mark ointment every morning after you take a shower and every night before you go to bed.

You will need to utilize it on the entire stomach, hips, breasts, thighs, and arms. This will cover all of the regions that are going to acquire the most quantity of weight rapidly. With the proper lotion and the right routine you have the power to avoid those pregnancy stretch marks and to be able to bounce back to your old body without any problems.

Remove Oily Skin Stop Skin Problems

You might want to remove oily skin from face and neck, but you don’t want to go overboard.  Stripping the skin’s natural oils will cause you to look older.  This article will teach you how to balance sebum production, so that the area is neither too oily, nor too dry.

Sebum is the skin’s natural lubricant.  It is produced by the sebaceous glands deep beneath the skin’s layers.  Even regular tap water strips sebum, away.  Studies have shown that to be true.  So, if regular daily cleansing is not removing excessive oils, then the sebaceous glands must be “over-productive”.

Normally, the glands produce just enough sebum to lubricate and protect the hair and skin from drying wind and other elements.  But, there are some things that stimulate sebum production.

Teenagers often want to remove oily skin from face and neck, because the sebaceous glands are stimulated by hormonal changes that occur during puberty.  Other things that stimulate the glands include steroid usage.

Research indicates that diet plays a role.  Eating simple carbohydrates, such as sugary foods and beverages increase the production of insulin and glucose.  In turn, those things stimulate the production of sebum.  So, people that want to remove oily skin from face and neck should consider reducing their intake of simple carbohydrates, but not fruits and vegetables.

People with excessive sebum production often have frequent breakouts or acne.  Research has shown that people with acne tend to have lower than normal levels of the vitamins A and E circulating in their bloodstream.  Fruits and vegetables are good sources of those vitamins.  So, eat your veggies.

Whatever role diet plays, it is probably small.  A good skincare routine is most important.  The necessary steps include appropriate cleansing, regular moisturizing and the use of the right health and beauty aids.

Men that shave often have excessive oiliness, because the shaving lubricants that they use contain greasy ingredients like petrolatum or mineral oil.  Those ingredients are often included in women’s makeup as well.  Anyone that wants to remove oily skin from face and neck should read the labels of their skincare products and stop using the ones that contain petrolatum or mineral oil.

Cleansing is appropriate when it is not too harsh.  Over-cleansing can stimulate the glands to produce more sebum.  It also causes irritation and inflammation, which increases the likelihood of breakouts and has an aging effect.

On a daily basis, use a cream containing maracuja, a special passion fruit extract that balances sebum production.  That way, your skin will not be too oily or too dry.

On a weekly or bi-weekly basis, use a deep-cleansing mask that contains special clay extracts called kaolin and bentone gel.  They work together to absorb excessive oils and dirt.

If you use the right skincare products, you can remove oily skin from face and neck, while supporting the skin’s health.  That should be your ultimate goal. And now for more information, please see my website below, on how to remove oily skin from face and neck

A Brief Look at Alpha and Beta Hydroxy Acids in Skin Care

Of all the products on the market today for skincare, the most readily recognized are the alpha and beta hydroxy acids. One of the reasons for their success, excluding an incredible marketing push, is the fact that they actually do what they claim to do. They both act as chemical "peels" for the skin.

Alpha-hydroxy acid is derived from fruit (citric, glycolic, tartaric and malic) acids or dairy (lactic) acids while Beta hydroxy acid is salicylic acid which is derived from aspirin. Neither of these products is new. Both have been around and in use for thousands of years. The difference is in the amount of research and marketing that has gone into the modern products.

While these acids do what they claim, that does not mean they are without their drawbacks. Sun sensitivity and irritation are the worst and most common side effects. So while they do reverse the effects of sun damage to the skin, at the same time they make the skin more susceptible to further damage from the sun. Unfortunately a sunscreen mixed with hydroxy acids is not very effective at the ph levels required for the hydroxy acids to be effective. You have to give the acids a little time to soak in and then apply a sunscreen.

Consumers are restricted to solutions of 10% or less. Trained cosmetologists are allowed to use solutions of 20% to 30% and physicians can handle 50% to 70%. Remember that as the concentration goes up so does the intensity of the side effects. While a doctors treatment may last much longer than your home treatment, it could take a full month to recover from the treatment.

The big difference between alpha-hydroxy and beta-hyroxy acids is that beta-hydroxy acid is oil soluble while alpha-hydroxy acids are water soluble only. This makes the beta-hydroxy acids the preferred solution to treating problems with oily skin such as acne, whiteheads, and blackheads. Beta-hydroxy acids also are less irritating since they are derived from aspirin and retain the anti-inflammatory properties of aspirin.

Be wary when buying products proclaiming alpha- hydroxy as part of their makeup. They work best with concentrations of 5% to 8% and a ph of 3 to 4. This information is rarely, if ever placed on the labels. Obscure manufacturers have nothing to lose by playing loosely with these figures, while the better known producers have a reputation to protect. But the bottom line controls everybody's actions.

A few pearls of wisdom:
  • Buy alpha-hydroxy formulated with a moisturizer
  • Do not buy alpha-hydroxy combined with a sunscreen
  • Do apply sunscreen liberally after your alpha-hydroxy has had time to soak in.
  • If practical, test the product with a ph test strip(available at pool, pet, and drug stores)
