Have you noticed the deal with cell phones these days? The human race has become dependent upon these little electronic devices in just a span of a few years. There’s a good chance that you couldn’t imagine going back to living without a cell phone. I just purchase a new cell phone about five months ago, although I was trying to avoid it. I was forced to buy one when my daughter started school. You see, I wanted to have that ability to receive calls at all times, just in case she needs me for something. The school will be able to call me anytime in the event of any emergency. Do you want to purchase one of these electronic devices? In this day and age, you can take your pick from the tons of cell phones and package deals out there. It can be hard to avoid being ripped off because of the countless deals available. This is why cell phone comparisons are crucial. The last thing you want is to be cheated on a mobile phone deal. You have to do cell phone comparisons quite often if you expect to keep up with the latest mobile phone technology. A lot of telecommunication companies are constantly coming out with new and improved mobile phones and more wireless phone plans. You can often see a lot pitch about cell phones running on television. My favorite is the one with the mother and daughter screaming at each other, but the dialog is backwards. This is advertisement is one of the rare ones that are amusing and clever at the same time. The problem is that it’s not convincing enough to make me want to run out and get a new cell phone plan. I usually hop online and do some quick cell phone comparisons if I'm really considering a new mobile phone deal. In my opinion, this is the simplest way to tackle this issue. I’m not fond of going to the local cell phone store or standing in the mall and listening to some spiel from an annoying salesperson. I’m just not very comfortable with this situation because I can't stand these folks. I think that they try too hard and they're always too pushy. Instead of enticing me into purchasing, they make me not want to buy a cell phone, or wireless plan. When it comes to cell phone comparisons, turning to the Internet is a much better option. You should check out some of the current stuff if it's been a few years since your last cell phone comparisons. A lot of things have changed in the last few years. If you’re getting poor reception, then your phone may be too old. The smart thing to do would be to hop online now for some cell phone comparisons and get your hands on that ideal mobile phone with the right plan for your needs. It’s time for the USA to resolve, once and for, to bring down the curtain on international conduct so clumsy it can be seen, not as dexterous, but as the ballet Frankenstein. Time to remember that ninety-nine percent of our practically usable power comes out of the barrel of a cash machine, so we concentrate on being the economic superpower we know how to be, not the military superpower we aren’t ruthless enough to be. Time to let the mad world go its self-punishing way, till, through economic success, we show the nations that are devoted to disagreement with us that we’re conducting a world they ought to get in on. What can we do in the meantime? Here’s the dumb-blunt knot. The Republicans say it’s good to stay in Iraq. The Democrats say it’s good to get out. And, of course, they’re both wrong, as extremes usually are. What’s the third answer? We need to be there so we can impede the worst threats to the welfare of our allies and our own nation. But we need to be there intelligently. So we set up three variations of our military base in Guantanamo – one in the north, from where we can stare at Syria; one outside of Baghdad, where we can watch the insurgents; and a third in the south, as a special present to Iran. We also fortify the Green Zone, with an even wider protective perimeter. So the government we helped set up has a chance to do what it can, until it’s certain that the only choice its members have is to fly to us so we can airlift them out to sanctuary. What we don’t do anymore is involve our troops in their day-to-day, strife-torn, dismally backward society. It’s high time we stopped being our clumsy, suckered selves. It’s time for bye, bye ballet Frankenstein and hello American Ballet Theater. Tom Attea, humorist and creator of NewsLaugh.com, has had six shows produced Off-Broadway. Establishing an effective performance management system, with-in the call center/customer service arena, is critical when you desire to deliver 'best in class' service and sales. Outlined below is an example of an effective model that you can utilize in your department to deliver exceptional performance. I like to refer to this as the performance management cycle: The Performance Management Cycle has four elements: 1. Setting goals and objectives; 2. providing ongoing feedback; 3. coaching, and 4. performance reviews These elements are described below. Setting goals and objectives The first element of the cycle is setting goals and objectives. This phase includes supervisor-employee meetings and discussions about the goals and objectives that will be measured during the review period. One of the most important parts of the performance management process is the communication of these goals and objectives. If the representative is a new employee, the goals and objectives are clear; the efforts are focused on the employee meeting goals to be effective at their new position. If the representative is a more tenured employee the focus will be on meeting or exceeding existing goals, setting new goals and ongoing development. The purpose of this meeting is to come to an understanding of the primary functions and the levels of performance expected for 'Good' performance. The supervisor and the employee work to resolve any items that are unclear. Any activities included in the development plan are also discussed. Employee input is encouraged. However, management retains the authority and responsibility for determining the content of the work plan. These goals and objectives become the road map for success for the manager and employee. Providing Ongoing Feedback The second element of the cycle is ongoing feedback. Managing includes day-to-day supervision, training, reinforcing, tracking actual performance, and discussing employee progress toward achieving the performance expectations of the goals and objectives. Supervisors must provide feedback related to these day-to-day findings in order for the representative to be aware of their performance. Ongoing feedback provides opportunities for the team member to improve. This feedback does not have to take up a lot of time, but it should be specific, timely and consistent. Coaching Using the Performance Management Cycle managers and supervisors must observe behaviors and then coach to improve performance. Coaching is best done in a one-on-one setting using self discovery dialog. By coaching throughout the review period supervisors provide opportunities for team members to reach and exceed their performance goals and objectives. Performance Reviews At the end of the review period, the supervisor and team member meet to discuss each performance-expectation and the employee's actual performance and results. This is the annual performance review. A performance rating is assigned for each principal function based on the comparison between the performance expectation and the employee's actual performance. An overall evaluation is also assigned. New goals and objectives are created based on the level of performance displayed during the review period. My recommendation is to go a step further and conduct mini reviews on a monthly basis. This gives the employee an opportunity to correct any behavior or performance issues, helps faciliate ongoing feedback, improves morale and helps you achieve your goals quicker.
