Most of what would need you to edit HTML on a normal website is available in configuration edit
boxes in the control panel.
The Design of the Shop
For the looks of the shop, Zlio has templates available and if you want you can hand edit the CSS for
the site yourself. There’s also a drag and drop screen for moving visual elements around on the page of
your template.
Adding Products
The interface for picking products is simple, and you can add reviews of products, associate products
with keywords, etc. You have complete control over the categories of products in your shops, and can
assign each product to any category of your choice.
PayPerClick Program
A product will often be offered by more than one of the merchants. Some of them will pay you in the
“normal” way (as a commission on items bought via your ZlioShop), but some will pay you every
time someone clicks on one of their offers.
Google AdSense
AdSense is Google’s advertising system, which allows you to display ads (either text or picture based)
on your shop. Each time someone clicks on one of your shop’s ads, you get 60% of the revenues
generated.
Search Engines and SEO (Search Engine Optimization)
Zlio fully supports Google and Yahoo sitemaps, and provides a spot for you to type in the verification
code for each. (For those of you who haven’t used Google’s webmaster tools, the verification code
establishes your ownership of the site in Google’s eyes, and gives you access to diagnostics and
insight into your site’s search engine rankings.) There are also specific areas where you can type in
meta keywords and a meta description for your shop, and another area where you put the code for
whatever analytics program you’re using (such as Google Analytics).
Domain Name
You have the option to make your ZlioShop available from a domain name you own
(myboutique.com for example).

Monetize Your Blog
Create also a Blog at Zlio and customize the interface of your shop to your blog’s colors. Add up a
link or thumbnail redirecting towards your shop and you’re done!

Video Search Engine

Compfight.com makes light work of searching Flickr for images. Type in a keyword or two, hit enter and you get a full page of images to look at - small enough to see lots on one page but not so small as to be hard to see. If you see one you like, click on it and it takes you through to the image page on Flickr. Genius.

A particularly useful feature for me is that you can easily restrict your search to images with Creative Commons licences - which are more likely to be available for use in presentations, blogs and the classroom. You can already do this in Flickr using the Advanced Search function, but compfight.com makes it much easier.

Top Free Music Site Expands to 28 Million Song.
 

Songza.com, the premier website for finding and listening to music, today announced partnerships with Seeqpod.com and Skreemr.com to dramatically expand its search results, so that users can find almost any song they can think of, and listen to it immediately on the Songza site. The partnerships with Seeqpod and Skreemr have expanded Songza’s effective catalog to 28 million songs.

“We’re excited about these partnerships—they allow our users to find and listen to a much broader range of music,” said Songza founder Aza Raskin. “Being able to listen to entire songs —not just 30-second clips—is a great thing for music fans. It will lead to more informed purchases of music, and more purchases overall.”
Any song that can be found via Seeqpod.com or Skreemr.com is now available via the Songza search interface, which allows visitors to search for a title or artist, click a result, and listen to the entire song, all within a single Songza page and without the need for any external applications (such as iTunes or Windows Media Player).
In collaboration with Creative Commons, Songza also announced its Self-Promotion Beta Program for bands and record labels. For only 99 cents, bands or record labels can have a song featured for a 24-hour period in the Recommended list on the Songza homepage, which is currently getting over 40,000 visitors per day. Bands and labels will also get to define the links that appear next to the song while it’s playing, so that people can buy the song or visit the band’s website.
“This program gives artists a unique chance to reach new fans for an extremely affordable price,” said Songza president Scott Robbin. “It’s micro-marketing for bands and labels, and it’s a valuable and affordable proposition for artists wanting to build a broader audience.” Bands and labels can apply for the Self-Promotion Beta Program via a simple online form at Songza.com.
