These ‘Planter Wall Tiles’ by Maruja Fuentes allow you to seamlessly integrate nature into your home decor. The fish scale-shaped tiles feature scooped-out hollows that serve as vases, mini pots or places to stash your keys.

Maruja Fuentes’ ‘Planter Wall Tiles’ are finished in recycled materials, so they’re as green as they are gorgeous.

These invisible screens are a great trick to do on your background image, although their creator does not provide step-by-step instructions for the average Joe or Jill. I have a feeling that it involves a screenshot and some tweaked computer background settings.

Nerdiness aside, you cannot knock the really awesome visual effect that these screens give. They’re clearly well worth the geek time spent in setting them up.

The latest Twitter craze is the ‘Twitter Angel’ phenomenon. One of the major players is Mark Stelzner, who read so many Twitter feeds about job losses that he was inspired to create JobAngels (@jobangels) with the thought that every person who followed him would find one person a job. His follower list grew to over 1,000 in two weeks as volunteers have stepped forward in droves to proofread resumes, disseminate job openings or hire job-seekers outright.

Metromix and the LA Times have each covered Stelzner and the other Twitter angels, and I stumbled across the incredible photo mosaic Charis Tsevis created for Metromix. The cover art for issue 13 features a Twitter angel comprised entirely of gadgets pointed to Twitter.

Griffin Enright Architects created this amazing 6,000-sq.-ft. unique architectural project for Point Dume Residence in Malibu, California. The luxurious house was designed as a modern showcase for the stunning surrounding scenery. They created continuous and interlocking spatial experiences which fuse the inside with the outdoors.

Amazing windows and floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors replace wallpaper and allow nature to fully flow into the house.

“The occupant then becomes immersed in a continuous volume of spectacular views that focus attention both internally towards the architecture itself and externally towards the Pacific Ocean in the distance,” the architects say.

Trendy concrete floors blend in with rounded curves of the walls. It’s ultra-modern, ultra-fab and the ultimate house of dreams.

In times of financial crisis, it’s all about going back to basics. For some, this may mean cutting luxury purchases out entirely, but for the fashionista, it means picking out only the bare essentials to fit into this season’s seriously tiny purses.

Many designers seemed to have come up with their own version of the mini purse phenomenon, with only their small size and sturdy composition factors held in common across the industry. Each purse effectively becomes a rare and precious object, like a small jewel of sorts.

I love the small foliage handle on the bag by Christian Lacroix and the eye-catching leopard print of the Cavalli purse. These mini purses can definitely take you from day to night and will add that attention-grabbing detail to top off any outfit.
