A Cambodian boy sleeps with his pet snake every night.
Sambath Uon, six, fell in love with 20 ft Burmese python Lucky when she first arrived in the village and was only 20 inches long, and now refuses to go to bed alone.
He said: "I love the python like my sister. All my friends are jealous of her." Despite Sambath's parents attempting to return Lucky to a nearby forest three times, she kept coming back, and locals now believe the reptile has healing powers.
Sambath's mother, Kim Kanara, said: "She is a member of the family now. We shelter, feed, bathe and even pray to her. Some people have recovered from sickness after being blessed by her."

When the police - who said motives for the crime were unclear - arrived, the mugger calmly told them he wanted to return to jail.

A British man discovered the missing part of a 17th century cabinet worth £1 million outside a pizza restaurant in York.
Mario Tavella, head of Sotheby's auction house, discovered the cabinet half outside the toilet of the ASK pizzeria in York.
He said: "This was a console I have been looking for the last 20 years. It's arguably the most important piece of Roman baroque furniture that has ever appeared on the market." The cabinet has been owned by the York Conservation Trust - who also own the Assembly rooms where the pizzeria is based - for the last half century, after it was separated from it's other half after the Second World War.
The top half of the cabinet had been supervised by Sotheby's for a client, but has now been reunited with its partner for a public auction in December.
