This is by far the biggest one I hear over and over again, day in and day out by newcomers and many advanced marketers.
I know you want to start making money online and I know it’s hard to get started but if you have a step by step formula to follow it is much, much easier and very possible.
As I have already pointed out, one of the biggest stumbling blocks for people who want to start their own, profitable Internet business is a lack of business ideas.
What kind of business can you start? How do you create your own product? How can you resell branded products using a warehouse or drop shipper? Where do you find these products and drop shippers? And how on earth do you find out what to research?
YOU need to know where and what to look for!
VERY BIG TIP!!! A very important point here that many so called guru’s on the net will not tell you. To really make the big incomes we are going to talk about you must have something that can produce HIGH RETURNS for every cent you invest. Otherwise you will not get WEALTHY. You will not become an internet MILLIONAIRE if you just sit back on anything below 35% profit margins.
The last thing you want to do is spend a whole year of your life spending money on a business with zero profit or heaven forbid a loss.
There are a few ways to make money on the net but the two main categories when selecting what to sell;
INFORMATION or PRODUCTS
If you want to market products you can do so by selling someone else’s INFORMATION or their PRODUCT via affiliates that many set up via their own site or through www.clickbank.com for example. Others use wholesalers and reseller sites.
There are many out there who prefer the AFFILIATE route so they don’t have to bother with spending the time and effort to set up their own business or find ideas and niches themselves. WHY? This involves work.
In this case you will need to know how to get traffic and build your lists. If you want to spend less time on your business then this is the best method and it’s fairly easy to make money but you are limited and there may just be a whole lot of other people out there flogging the same horse.
The other way is to have your own INFORMATION or PRODUCT and build your own affiliate network. It’s tougher from the start but once you have that MOMENTUM you will notice the profits become greater and your effort less for more.
Imagine you are in your current job. Let’s say you are a salesperson who has targets to achieve each and every month. It’s tough as your targets are always getting put up just out of reach and unless you work 12 hours a day you have little chance of making target and collecting big bonus checks.
Now, think how much easier it would be if you have a hundred other sales people working for you and giving you qualified leads
They make all the calls, see all the clients and all you have to do is get them to sign your paper work. All for a small commission but only once the client has signed. Wow! That’s a big Wow!
What a great idea. Well, this is just how the affiliate works on the net but you can build them up to be in the thousands. I mean tens of thousands.
AND NO PRODUCT OF YOUR OWN
Many people think that to sell products themselves they need to invent some new way of making a wheel or they put in weeks or months of work to create an e-book that most people would never buy or even read.
INFORMATION or content would be information products which include e-books, DVDs, CDs, manuals, books, blogs, websites, ezines, newsletters etc.
BUT, if you want to make the most profit then having your own information or content or products is a must. Simply reselling another persons content or product is not enough and it has a definite life cycle.
In short, if you really want to sell other peoples products make sure they are closely related to your own and to the subjects of your blogs or newsletters. Otherwise you will not sell a thing and risk losing them as a subscriber. Remember the thought about integrity. Don’t just try to make money.
The most success will come from adding good products in a skillfully written email that makes you sound like their friend and gains their trust but only once you have given them something of value. If you don’t have their trust they will not buy.
A lot of brand new people to this business will have been to many a seminar telling them to simply resell someone else’s product and make millions within a year.
NOT SO MY FRIEND!
“RUBBISH” I hear you say. “I have seen the guys who do this at seminars and the proof of income.” Actually, I have also seen them all. I can name the successful ones on one hand. Yes, they are extremely hard working.
You can fail here very easily because… IT’S TOO EASY FOR OTHERS TO COPY. Once this happens your market is almost dead. You need to be at the top of the tree here.
There are also many sites out there that are offering you FREE websites all setup and ready to go. Got one? Well if you have then thousands of others have too. We will talk about niches in the next section where this will all come clear.
The Internet has huge opportunities to make lots of money in various ways with all types of info products and merchandise, but, like all things these will always need the most effort from YOU.
YOU MUST BE PREPARED TO WORK FOR THIS.
OK, so that covers a bit about Information products and as you have read it is hard work and it takes a lot of research to find that great content. If you choose just to be an also rand and copy all the ideas on the net without thinking about what it is that you are doing to help someone then your struggle will be an uphill one.
Let’s talk about PRODUCTS you can resell.
To make it clear this is what I would call stuff like cars, car parts, TV’s, Video players etc. Companies may include GM, Ford, and Panasonic etc. They all have their own great product that is as they say UNIQUE. Some try to sell them online too. But, the difference being that they are selling their own products. You will never see Panasonic selling a Phillips product in a Sony shop.
There are also many resellers out there that sell other peoples products. Wal-Mart in the US and Tescos in the UK are experts at selling other peoples products. They are true merchants or resellers. They buy at wholesale and sell at retail. The profit is the difference between the two.
Here are some more examples of merchants, ToyRUS, Sears, Kmart, Topshop, Next, Amazon and many, many more.
None of these actually make their own products. Some are branded but they don’t actually make them.
Confused? The thing to remember is that most of what’s being sold is being sold by people like us. Marketers, or in some cases you may call yourself a publisher, and not the actual manufacturer of the product.
In this case you don’t have to sit and think up a product, you don’t have to make a thing. What you can do is use a drop shipper so you don’t even have to store the products or buy them. Just like going to the store to buy something. You don’t pay until you buy.
You can make a lot of money with your own ecommerce store selling merchandise. They can be cheap and simple to set up.
WORD OF WARNING
When it comes to making money from your own ecommerce store, there is a very large threat to your success.
As you know there are a lot of so called genuine wholesalers out there and one of the biggest problems about this strategy to make money is;
WHERE DO I FIND A REAL TRUSTWORTHY WHOLESALER?
I can tell you that there are a few who make a lot of money doing this but a whole lot more who just get burned. And I mean burned.
WHY?
Because they use a wholesaler that they know very little about and one that has no credibility at all. In fact there are a lot of these, so how do you choose the right one.
Well I know a handful that I would trust but one in particular hits the top of the list. I’ll tell you in just a moment.
The people from Amazon, Wal Mart, Buy.com, etc. don’t make mistakes easily, and you can bet they have a great relationship with wholesalers that they trust.
Ultimately gives these guys the time to do what they do best of all MARKETING THE PRODUCTS.
Have you worked it all out yet?
The simple ingredients for starting your own business on the Internet are;
1. You need a large LIST OF PEOPLE who are hungry for your product. Hungry for your niche and ready to pay for your solution
2. You need a PRODUCT to sell whether this is your own or one that has been produced by someone else. This is temptation.
3. You need to CONTACT these people in anyway you can. Using the Internet, including ezines, newsletters, classified ads, etc
4. You need an initial OPT-IN offer to get them to hand over their names and email address.
5. You need BACKEND products to increase your profit margins
6. You also need to IMPROVE somebody’s LIFE
Like me you are always eager to get stuck into the information knowing you are going to learn something. This can lead you to miss out certain points that are very important. It’s a bit like watching a movie. The second and third time you always pick up on little things that make it even better.
You may have picked up on the fact that I am here to stay and I want the internet to start producing better quality products. Especially in the highly profitable area of digital products or information products.
There are two types of people who set up a business on the net.
Those that just want to sell sell sell no matter what the price. This is their number one focus. You know the newsletters you get always trying to get you to buy buy buy. Full of affiliates links. None of which has all that much quality content.
Then there is the type of person who wants to generate great content. They want to HELP solve those problems. They actually care about what they produce. This to me is making someone’s life a little bit better.
See how important it is to know your customers problems and how to solve them.
YOU NEED to think about what it is your customers want. DO NOT ASSUME.
If you want to get rich, wealthy, financially free or how ever you want to state it then you must shift the FOCUS onto your consumer base. You will find that you will have people recommending friends, family and colleagues to you and your products.
Think of the real world of commerce. Think for a minute what would happen to Wal-Mart if they decided to start sell inferior products to all those millions of trusted consumers.
CONTENT IS KING… Heard that one a few times, right? What does it actually mean though? It means that you need to offer great information that is going to help solve peoples problems and keep them coming back for more. This is absolutely essential to your success.
Start writing THE BEST CONTENT on the net for your products.
Try giving it away for free too. You will be surprised what people will buy off you if they think the free content is great.
If you want to stand out from the crowd you simply must have the best content. This is the reason you need to think strongly about what product you are going to sell. If you are not interested at all in watches then ho ware you going to write about them.
You may be the best chef anyone knows. I bet you could get passionate about telling people how to cook a great steak.
You need to keep people who click on your site on your site as long as possible. You will only do this with amazing content. If you do this I promise you this;
YOU WILL BE SUCCESSSFUL
The number one reason that you will fail in this business is that your content is rubbish. Once again, your content will either kill you or make you.
Repeat this 10 times to yourself….
KILLER CONTENT WILL MAKE ME RICH
Killer content can include, e-books, video/DVD, CD’s or audio, newsletters, blogs.
What else can you do to help you become successful?
Well as you have read it takes a combination of all the things you have read about. Hard Work and commitment is very important as too is courage and integrity. If you can answer yes to all these then you are on your way.
However, knowledge is key. You can get knowledge from all sorts of places including the library, internet, newspapers, TV, CD’s, Videos etc etc etc.
The greatest place to get HELP and KNOWLEDGE is from those that share a common passion and interest as you do. They are equally honest and equally committed to great content and serving the consumer.
Where do you find these people? At seminars, on blogs, on the PHONE, in person. Lunch, dinner, breakfast, and virtually anywhere you want. You just have to contact them.
These people are your friends.
These friends will accelerate you to an enormous income and an incredible contact base. (You know how important a trusted list is)
By the way, do not buy lists that are randomly advertised. This is your fast track to getting spammed)
Ok, before I go on about FRIENDS, I need to make sure you understand what your essentials are for starting an internet business;
1. You must have GREAT CONTENT
2. You must have TRAFFIC
4. You must have INCOMING LINKS
4. You will need AFFILIATES
5. You must RESEARCH
6. You must TEST and act on the results
7. You need a list of OPT-Ins to create you LIST of customers
8. TRUST in the market place.
9. KNOWLEDGE about your product and your consumer
10. SURVEY to get to know your consumers
11.BLOGS to create traffic organically
12. SEO for on and off page. Be nice to Google
Yes, that is a big post but I felt it was time you at least new the basics behind an online business and what you need to start and become a success. by: Ashley Banfield Need more? Just visit my page on: www.samoney.t35.com

Owning an AdSense Google site is a great way to make money. To create an AdSense site, all that is required is to have a Google AdSense account (which is free), a website or a blog (which is free), and some articles (which are free if you write them yourself). Once you have your site up and running, the google AdSense ads will be targeted to your content.
Therefore, those surfing for your content will come in, read your articles, and have a high chance of being interested in the targeted ads. You will get paid every time someone clicks an ad. Provided you have optimize your site to maximize AdSense clickthroughs!
Let's look at seven ways for creating AdSense websites that make money.
1. Keyword Density
Prior to placing your ads on your site, be sure your keyword density is good. You certainly want the right kinds of ads to show up on your website. A free way to check what the ads will look like on your site is to go to http://www.resultsgenerator.com/adsense/ and type in your keywords. You will then be able to see exactly what ads would show on your site.
If you don't like what you see, then you know that you need to make changes to your keywords! You can get keyword suggestions from Results Generator from Overture or from the free trial version of niche bot.
2. Relevant
As informed ads will be based on your keywords, but they will also be based on your content as well. You certainly want your keywords and your content to match as much as possible.
3. Write frequently
The more information you have the better your website. Why? Because more content means more visitors will come visit your site. Many people recommend that you write a new article every day because no one wants to come back to your site to find the same old messages!
4. Select The Right Format
AdSense allows you to choose many special ad formats. Study has revealed that wider ads are more successful. The top three formats are:
" 336x280 large rectangle " 300x250 medium rectangle " 160x600 wide skyscraper
Additionally, the 468x15 horizontal ad link under the navigation bar is also a good bet.
5. Color Counts
You have the choice to generate a Google AdSense ad in several color of your choice. The greatest thing to do is to create your ad combine well with your site color scheme. You must make the border color and the background color the same color as your web site. You will want your text color to either be black or similar the color of your main content.
When selecting your Google AdSense ads it is suggested to use the color scheme and style of your website so that the ads blend in well. Ads without background color and borders perform better than ads within borders with background color.
6. Position Counts, as well
It is well acknowledged that visitors to a website look into the site to determine if it is worth reading. You certainly would like them to see and scan your AdSense ads. Hence, the best place to place them is in the top left part of your web page or directly under your headlines.
7. Add to The Number
AdSense allows you to use up to three AdSense units on a page, two AdSense search boxes, and one unit of ad links. Using all that you can increases the likelihood of earning money.
Keep these seven sure ways in mind when creating your AdSense site and you will find that your click through rates increases, thus increasing your money making prospective. by: Ivonson Kwee Need more? Just visit my page on: www.samoney.t35.com

Search engines are very difficult to completely understand. There are no complete explanations of how their ranking algorithms work. But the very fact that the average person does not intuitively know how to crack the search engine algorithms leads to all sorts of questions; Usually variations of: “How do I get my website to the top of the search engine results pile?” Now if you have been following my newsletter, you will know that search engine optimization is not magic or something equally difficult to understand. Instead, I learnt it as a step-by-step process and that is how I have always considered it. Nothing too fancy; in fact, I could probably summarize it all in the following points: - An understanding of how search engines “think” .
- Knowing what search engines “want” .
- Learning proven optimization techniques .
- Applying your knowledge time and time again (experience).
Of course, SEO is not explained by those four sentences, but what they do is that they give you a structure within which you can learn and carry out SEO on your business with exceptional results. In short: Get it right, and do it better than your competition. But what does this have to do with today's discussion? Basically, when you have “followed” the SEO strategies to the letter, and are still not seeing your website rank anywhere near where it “should” be on a particular keyword, then you have one of the following problems: - Your website may have been sandboxed (specific only to Google).
- Your website might be penalized or even removed from the index by a search engine for going against a stated guideline.
- A search engine might “think” that you are spamming them.
In the first case, you will have to “wait it out” with Google, while consolidating on your positions in the other search engines by continuously building links and adding content. The second case will never happen if you follow the advice given in my lessons; if your website is penalized, compare what you have done with what I have told you, and you will probably find out that something has gone wrong. However, like I said in the beginning, search engines are notoriously difficult to understand – and sometimes you can do everything right and still not be ranked correctly. Conspiracy theories apart, this is the part of the equation that search engines do not always get right. SEO experts usually term this as over-optimization , and like many SEO issues this one has a lot of debate on it in SEO forums about whether websites are actually penalized for over-optimization or simply banned for spam. What exactly is over-optimization? Over-optimization happens when your website is considered “too good” by Google – either in terms of a sudden volume of backlinks, or because of heavy on-page optimization. In other words, if Google considers that your website optimization is beyond acceptable limits , your website will be red-flagged and automatically restricted or penalized. There is a fine line between over-optimization and spamming, and it is on this line that Google can appear to err. However, this is not a mistake by the search engine – in fact, Google calculates rankings by considering thousands and thousands of different factors – and a lot of importance is attached to average “trends” within the niche / keyword range that a website is optimizing for. The bottom line is that over-optimization is non-spamming search engine optimization that is misread by Google as being beyond acceptable limits, thus leading to a penalty in search engine rankings. What criteria does Google use? To understand why Google can consider certain websites over-optimized, it is important to factor in the criteria that Google uses to rank websites. When fully indexing a website, Google does not just look at the optimization of the target website; it also compares the website with all the other websites that belong to the same niche / category / keyword range. Through this comparison, Google can then figure out the following: - Is this website “way more” optimized than the current top ranking websites?
- In the past, have over-optimized websites been discovered as spam websites?
- What are the trends / acceptable limits for well-optimized websites in this niche/keyword range?
Since Google is automated, it cannot do what we do – look at the webpage and determine if the purpose is spam or delivering truly useful information. Instead, the search engine uses historical trends to predict what the acceptable limits of over-optimization are, and how likely over-optimized websites are to be found out as spam. In other words, your website may be red flagged as being a potential spamming website even though your only fault might be that you were “perfect” in optimizing your website while your competition was left far behind. Google takes both on-page and off-page optimization into account when checking for over-optimization / spam, and as such it watches out for over-optimization in all ranking factors – your backlinks and your tag optimization (meta tags, title tags, header tags) being most important. A lot of what I am talking about becomes invalid if one tries any overt search engine spamming technique , such as stuffing your pages with keywords, white on white text (something I talked about in the first few lessons) or backlink spamming (building too many backlinks with the same anchor text in a short period of time. But it is also possible that you have followed advice and still have your website penalized for over-optimization. The real question then is: How can you avoid such penalties ? Avoiding the trap of over-optimization As I mentioned at the start of this lesson, search engine optimization can be boiled down to two simple steps: - Getting it right and…
- Doing it better than everyone else.
In the context of over-optimization and avoiding unnecessary penalties, this rings especially true. If you optimize your website within search engine guidelines and according to proven optimization practices, you have it right. While putting too little time on SEO is a serious mistake, the search for perfection within SEO is a time-wasting and fruitless effort. Too much focus on getting the page structure “just right” can divert attention away from the more mundane but equally more important tasks – such as adding more content or monetizing the website. The next step is to eschew perfection and find out what your competition has done. Suppose that you are optimizing your website for the term “landscaping”. Which of the following approaches would you realistically choose? - Go full-throttle on your search engine optimization, spending as much time as necessary to get maximum value out of each word, link and page in your website, so that you can get the highest ranking possible.
- Analyze the top 10 webpages for the term “landscaping” and understand what optimization has been performed on them (natural or artificial). Calculate the number of backlinks, check for authority inbound links – and once you have figured out what your competition is doing, and do exactly the same – only a bit more .
The first approach might mean that you are guaranteed a top position on the search engines, but has two problems – you will waste a lot of time and resources in this search for perfection and more importantly, your website may be flagged for over-optimization. On the other hand, the second approach does just enough to beat the competition – without pushing you or your budget to the limit. Over-optimization is a phenomenon that is particularly difficult to figure out – how does a SEO expert really determine whether his new website is in the sandbox, penalized for over-optimization or just doing badly in the search engines? While trying to find out the real cause for your poor rankings may satisfy curiosity, you would be better served by following the “second approach” above. Search engine optimization is a long-term, low-intensity process. You keep building links and adding content, so that eventually your website not only escapes the infamous sandbox but it also starts to rank really well on the search engines. And as for over-optimization – as long you follow search engine guidelines and don't go too far above your competition, you will be fine. by: Brad Callen Want more ? As little as one decade ago an ecommerce site was the domain of techno wiz’s and coding geniuses. Today the Internet business world is not limited to the technically gifted and motivated. Anyone can build an ecommerce business due to the advent of WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editors, web building wizards, open source blog and web site platforms, as well as platform like Ebay, Amazon, etc.
A person can build a viable web business without ever understanding how to configure a Mysql database or coding in HTML or PHP. A strong computer background or time needed to learn, is all the skills needed to get started.
Static Pages & Content Management Systems
Static pages are like digital paper. They do not change. They end in .htm, and remain the same until the owner changes the content on them.
A content management system can be as simple as a www.blogger.com or Wordpress blog. Or, it can be a complex $10 000 platform that is powerful enough to run 100 000 pages of content. The objective is to create something for the search engines to send their robots to for ranking and traffic generating.
The content should be designed to create demand, solve problems, and offer solutions. The secondary purpose is to optimize the website increasing the traffic and profit.
What Are You Selling
The Internet does not require a tangible product for sale. There are dozens of things to sell which are not tangible including downloads, education, affiliate and advertising, pre-selling, or social/ entertainment. Creating a site where people can come and share their love for a hobby, venture, belief, or view, can provide a good opportunity for a savvy business owner.
It is possible to sell entertainment. It is possible to sell ‘meeting people.’ Many Internet businesses have grown to unbelievable levels of success doing just this. Some examples are youtube.com, facebook.com, myspace.com and more.
The first step to building a website is not designing the site. It is deciding what is being sold. Why will people come to the website? What will attract them? What will make visitors stay at the site?
Understanding what is for sale will help the business owner pre-sell the product without continually telling people to buy something. In fact, the most profitable sites are those that do not try to sell anything.
Monetize the Website
The term monetize the website means to create a website that doesn’t sell anything. Its sole purpose is to pre sell a product and make money by driving people to websites that do sell something. This is a popular method of income generation as it lets Internet businesses to create multiple streams of income and diversify without needing to invest money into products, merchant accounts, and warehousing or drop shipping.
Shopping Carts
Once the website owner decides what to sell, they need to determine what type of platform. Many new companies stick with paypal.com an ebay company. Other people do not try to do it their own. Instead they take their time and explore their options.
One way is to use prostores.com, ebay.com, or amazon.com to sell their products.
Stay Up To Date
Being behind the times is a quick way to go out of business. Ecommerce companies need to stay up to day. That e-book should be changed into a home study or an e-course. The download should become a video or audio file. The free blog – a personalized website. The internet world is evolving. As fast as users become familiar with one form of Internet tool or feature, another is quickly increasing to take its place.
The key to success is remaining educated, reading everything you can, and staying up to date with the web and all the tools it has. What makes money? Something new.
