My mom had this problem with pie crusts for years and years. I can still remember the times that she would throw the dough into the garbage before dad got home so that he wouldn't see. But the thing is, she never stopped making them and today, she is one of the best pie makers at her church. Ever time I talked to her on the phone, she's baking another pie for some church function. So, today's question is... what little trick did you learn to make the fool proof pie crust? Is there a special ingredient that makes it work every time??

I have to admit that I'm still not very good at it so I'm hoping that a few of you can offe some advice. :)

Today's Tip

 Go through your collection of books and choose six that really don't interest you any more. Now donate them to your local library. Now because I am the Shopping Diva, I'm going to suggest that you make a slight change in your spending habits. From this day forward, you are going to borrow novels from the library. Have you been to the mall lately?? Here's my 5 reasons why I know that things are going to get worse before they are going to get better.

1. Everyone has done all the shopping they need to do for Christmas. The reason for going to the mall is gone! And the malls in Florida are empty. Can't blame that on the weather!

2. The parking lots are empty. I can't remember ever seeing parking lots this empty! If nothing else, people go there just to socialize.

3. The stores have pulled off all the sales. I was getting used to seeing at least 70% off. Now those signs are gone. I want those back. I have gotten used to seeing sales like that.

4. There are foreclosures everywhere. My hearts go out to the people who will lose their home sometime this year.

5. And it's not just home owners that will be walking away although I feel more sorry for them. I just heard that major stores are facing the same thing. Macy*s for example will be closing at least 9 stores from last count!

How can I close this list but by saying that I can only hope for a good 2009! I don't know if positive thoughts can help at all, but at the moment, that's all I can think of!
