Flying Farangs 4th Annual Charity Golf Tournament Tees Off in Pattaya
The 4th Annual Flying Farangs Opened golf tournament “With over 200 golfers hitting the links to raise funds for a charity"

            Pattaya, Thailand (On last Saturday, August 25, 2007): The 4th Annual Flying Farangs Open golf tournament, co-hosted by Raimon Land, take the place at the Phoenix Country Club located just outside Pattaya. The aim of this event is to raise funds for a charity organization named the Thai Fund Foundation (TFF) and the Flying Farangs Ice Hockey Club.

            Half of the net proceeds from the event will be donated to a special project dedicated to the assistance of refugees in Thailand and the development of Health and Environmental initiatives within the Kingdom. The other half of the net proceeds will assist with the continued development of ice hockey in Thailand, with emphasis placed on encouraging Thais to learn the skills and dynamics of ice hockey through the Flying Farangs organization and the Thai World Hockey League (TWHL).

            “With over 200 golfers hitting the links on last Saturday in support of a great cause, our 4th annual tournament is now considered one the top charity golf events in Thailand,” said organizer Michael White. “In addition to the overwhelming player turnout, we are very pleased to have the support of a fantastic line up of sponsors including: Tequila Reef, Roadhouse BBQ, Woodstock Restaurant, D’ Pelican, Chang Light, Santa Fe, POV, Wilding Golf Performance Center, Starboard and TMD Communications.”

            Billed as one of the best organized and fun charity golf events in Thailand, the tournament format will consist of a 2-player Scramble (best shot between partners on each stroke) with 'net scores' calculated based on the Handicaps submitted by both players. The entry fee is 2,900 THB which includes everything for the registered golfer: green fees, caddy fees, food & drinks, prizes, and an all-you-can-eat banquet buffet dinner hosted by Raimon Land at their beautiful NORTHPOINT beachfront condominiums in Pattaya.

            In addition to the Scramble format of the tournament, the event will feature numerous individual competitions and 3 “challenge holes” where players will have the chance to make donations and compete in quirky challenges for unique prizes. “The entire event is produced in the spirit of international hockey—Flying Farangs’ style, and provides participants with an opportunity to enjoy one of Thailand’s finest golf courses, the Phoenix Country Club while making new friends and testing their skills for bragging rights and fun prizes.”

            Thailand’s internationally renowned Flying Farangs are a group of ice hockey players comprised from a mixture of nationalities, mainly Canadian, American, Swedish, German, Czech, Finnish and Thai. This close knit group of guys, who share a love and passion for the game of ice hockey, are dedicated to promoting the sport to those people who don't know the game yet.
