First Alert CO615 Carbon Monoxide Plug-In Alarm with Battery Backup and Digital Display
see more @ shop at home

I bought this to replace my older detector. We lost power for 4 days and that's when I realized that without battery backup my carbon monoxide detector was useless. I needed it because we were using a kerosene heater for some heat and we got a bit ill from it. So next time we lose power and have to use emergency heaters at least we will know if the carbon monoxide levels become unsafe.

This is a great little pet bed! I have a hairless dog who tends to get a bit...well, VERY chilly in the winter. I have seen these beds before, but they seemed a little pricey ($50-60). Finally, I looked up burrow beds on Amazon, and here it was!
When the bed arrived, I was immediately impressed with the quality. The outside is made of a thick, almost upholstry-type fabric, and it is lined with faux-lambswool. The bed part is so cushy and inviting, I couldn't help but stick my head in there! The cover is stiff enough to provide an envelope for your pet to crawl into, but it folds around them nicely, like a thick blankie.
It is machine washable, a definate plus! The color is similar to the picture: kind of a cadet blue with a subtle stripe pattern, and the inside is cream colored. My pup had NO reservations about heading in there! I tossed a toy in it and she ran right in! She's in there as I type this, poking her nose out every so often to say "THANKSMOM!"
A great buy for chilly pets--now if they could only make one in MY size!

This is my third Kidde smoke-CO alarm. (I left the previous two in previous residences.) I bought a Kidde because from firsthand experience their alarms are reliable. This one features dual smoke-and-CO detection, and has a computer-generated voice that says "fire" or "carbon monoxide" or "low battery" in addition to eardrum-piercing sirens. The alarm uses 3 AA batteries (3 Energizers included in package), and so far I've found the battery life to be satisfying.

Tiger is known for great rice cookers. Usually their models are made in Japan, but this model is made in China and the price is low because of it. It cooks rice like any other rice cooker of Tiger's and I have had no problems with it. While its not fuzzy, this is a decent rice cooker, and the latest Tiger model.

We are a three-person East Asian household: My mother and I are Japanese, and my other half is Korean. Needless to say, we use this rice cooker at least five times a week, and have had it for about a year.

We've decided that eating brown rice instead of white rice about twice a week would be a healthy choice. The pressure cooker feature makes delicious brown rice (we use 2.5 cups regular Japonica brown rice mixed with 1.5 cups of sweet "mochi" brown rice nowadays). For the remainder of the week, we cook white rice, and it does a beautiful job. Once in a while, we make porridge -- the traditional Japanese remedy for when someone is sick -- which can be made excellently by this rice cooker. In that sense, we like all the features that this ricecooker offers, and it is really easy to operate.
