Regular Automotive Oil In Motorcycles?

There is a lot of confusion about oil in motorcycles. Specially marketed 'motorcycle oil' is a lot more expensive than oil sold for cars, but is it really safe to run car oil? Yes, just make sure it meets SG, SH, SJ, or SL service requirements. Generally, you are better off with a heavy-duty oil for motorcycles, such as 15w40, below is a list of oils known to work well in motorcycles:

1. Chevron Delo 400 15w40
2. Mobil Delvac 1300 Super 15w40
3. Pennzoil Long-Life 15w40
4. Quaker State 4X4 Synthetic Blend 15w40
5. Shell Rotella-T 15w40 (my personal favorite)
6. SuperTech 2000 (WalMart) 15w40
7. Valvoline All Fleet 15w40
8. Castrol Syntec Blend Truck and 4X4 15w40

A really good choice HAS always been Mobil One 15w50, but recently they changed their formula from TriSynthetic to SuperSyn, which has additional friction modifiers, which may make it no longer a good choice for bikes. This is still up in the air, with people having mixed results, but I say, why risk it, try one of the other ones above!

Now, this may seem sketchy to you, and you're thinking, yea it may work, but will my bike die in a year? In the June 1996 Issue of Sport Rider Magazine, there was a report called, '100,000 mile Honda CBR900RR.' The owner used regular Castrol GTX car oil, 20W50 in the summer, 10W40 in the winter, changed his oil every 4000 miles, only changed the oil filter EVERY OTHER time. When this bike had 100,000 miles on it, they dyno'd it up against an identical bike with only 6,722 miles on it, and the horsepower and torque curves were virtually identical! The magazine later did a follow up, with the same CBR at 200,000 miles and going strong, so as you can see, the oil had no affect on his bike.

So, you may wonder, 'Why then, is motorcycle sooo much more money, if its the same stuff?'

Well, because they sell motorcycle oil in smaller quantities, more packaging, smaller orders, less sales, more cost per quart. Just recently, some of the major oil companies have caught on to this, and have started selling their own motorcycle oils in auto parts stores and even places like Wal Mart, and they are MUCH closer to the price of regular car oil, because once again, they are the massive companies, they move a lot more oil, and have less cost per quart. So, when you buy the really expensive motorcycle oil for your bike, what you are paying for, is not better oil, you're just paying for that companies costs. Get it? Good. Save your money for better things, like new parts!

And then the fifth step is just get started writing. One of the things that I see so often is that people try to get everything perfect in their mind. You'll spend all day long perhaps trying to write out the perfect outline. And by then you're too tired to write.

And the next day, then you want to do some research and you want to have more better information and you don't get started the second day. And then finally you get started on the third day. And then it's wonderful. You write eight-hundred words on that topic which is fine.

However, what I find, it's so much easier to just sit down, take the information that you already have, or do a little bit of research and just start writing. One more thing. Article length. I like to make my articles somewhere between two-hundred fifty and five-hundred words long.

If you've been doing some article marketing, you're familiar with which article directories require a certain minimum. Some of them are two-hundred fifty. There's a couple that are four-hundred or five-hundred words long.

And so perhaps you make a decision. You know, I'm only only going to submit to article directories that take articles that are three-hundred words or more. Or two-hundred and fifty words or more. One thing that I have found in my own article marketing is that a three-hundred word article on average gets the same amount of response as a six or seven-hundred word article.

What that means for me is that instead of taking the time to write a six-hundred word article I can break that time into two chunks. And actually write two articles. Get twice the traffic in that same period of time.

Anti-American psyche war contributors are alive and well in Internet forums and political Blogs around the Internet. Many of these detractors of the United States of America have apparently been reading all of our media and then using all of our complaints against our government or society against us. So whereas we believe in free speech and freedom of the press to air our differences; they are using our negative comments about ourselves as a way to divide the American people and lessen our will in the war on terror.

In fact many of these anti-American Bloggers will make comments about past issues with our CIA, as one anti-American commenter stated; “I am sure that you know about CIA bringing the drug into USA for many years is this your grate government as you call, it killing their own people with drug they don’t care.”

Well if you really want to find out about the drug wars maybe you should ask some of the larger PRI stakeholders in Mexico and the Mexican Military about the drugs? And if you really want to talk about drugs, let’s talk about those fine Muslim “Talley Band” people and their cave dwelling billionaire’s son leader of theirs? Shall we?

Of course in stating this, you would not believe the tirade they go into defending themselves. You see it seems that these psyche war bloggers actually believe they can defeat Americans with rhetoric and misrepresentations of truth. Not so, as America is a strong nation and her people are hardly intellectual push overs. Consider this in 2006.

How To Get Signed To A Label - Top 10 Ways

Firstly, as a musical artist, there is no exact 'formula' that can get you signed to a label and this may be disappointing for some to hear; but don't be discouraged.

Getting signed to a label can sometimes come about just by being in the right place at the right time ,however, there are several things you can do to maximize the possibility of attracting a major label or production company and get them interested in signing you.

Here are 10 simple things you can do to help you get signed to a label:

1. Be well prepared! Make sure your skills are developed to the point that they can compete with the best the industry has to offer.

2. You must look 'sign-able'. No one will want to sign you to a label unless you are going to make them money. As such, you or your band must be confident, experienced, dedicated and professional. You need to have great songs and to stand out from the rest.

3. Don't wait to be discovered. Promoting yourself and developing your own fan base is a great way to get noticed by major labels. It helps to have an established following, a good street team, and some strong independent sales when seeking a record deal. The more you do on your own, the less the label has to do, and ultimately the happier they are. In fact, A&R will often seek you out (eg. come to your show to hear what all the fuss is about) if you've done a really good job of promoting yourself.

4. Get out and do live performances. Offer to play at clubs for free if they are reluctant to book you. If you win over the crowd (or bring a healthy crowd of your own) they'll have you back. To build a regional fan base, you should be doing shows, selling CD’s, trying to get some radio support (even if it’s just college radio), and doing anything and everything else you can to get some kind of following.

5. Be creative. Go where your audience is. Does your music appeal to high school students? Play lunchtime shows at high schools. Or shopping malls.

6. Put together a 'street team' of fans in your local area who can help promote your shows, and spread the word. Many young, die-hard fans will work like crazy just to be recognized, included on the guest list, and be considered something of an insider.

7. Use the power of the internet to create a buzz! Promote yourself online and expand your fan base even more. Set up your own website where fans can download your songs. Create a MySpace Music page and artist profile for free! Create a blog and network with other musicians. Have people sign up to your mailing list and build your database. Regular contact with your fans is crucial if you want to retain a healthy fan base. Give them regular news updates and information about gigs and CD releases.

8. Many artists sign up to an independent label first (or even start their own label) to develop their artistry, songwriting and performance, before getting signed to a major label. Consider doing this as part of your career development.

9. One common misconception is that major labels develop artists. This is simply not true. You need to bring the whole package, including performance ability, to the label. Having your own fan base, photos, press clippings or internet presence to add to your 'demo' will certainly look more impressive!

10. A&R and managers receive multiple demo's every day and are subject to hearing some pretty awful stuff. If you can offer something that sounds amazing, along with a good 'promo' (promotional) package it should greatly increase your chances of getting signed.

Ok, so let’s recap. You’ve honed your skills, produced a tight product and created a strong buzz. You should now be well on your way to getting signed to a label. This can be a long road, so it’s important to keep a positive mental attitude.

While every success story is different, you will find that most successful artists share a sense that their music 'must be heard' at all costs, so cultivate this mindset in yourself. This belief will help you to persevere and to make connections with others who share your vision.
