Colbie Marie Caillat (born May 28, 1985 in Newbury Park, California) is an American acoustic-folk singer-songwriter from Malibu, California. Her father, Ken Caillat, co-produced Fleetwood Mac's Rumours and Tusk albums; Colbie recalls being around the likes of Mick Fleetwood and John McVie as a child.

She is noted for her MySpace profile which led her to become the number one unsigned singer in her genre for four months. Her popularity on the social network was partially due to her song 'Bubbly'. Her profile has garnered over 31 million plays. For the week of 17 July 2007, 'Bubbly' was featured at the iTunes Store as the free 'Single of the Week'. The promotion coincided with the release of Coco, her first, and to date, only, studio album.
Colbie Caillat seemingly caught the world by surprise by building a huge following at her MySpace page with a little song called 'Bubbly.' The sunny acoustic track is an undeniably catchy mix of singer-songwriter magic similar to that of John Mayer and Corinne Bailey Rae. 'I wrote 'Bubbly' last summer and it's about having a crush on someone and the way someone makes you feel when you like them,' says the 22-year-old California native. 'It's about, you know, when someone gives you butterflies and makes you smile.' Of course, her success shouldn't be quite as shocking once you learn that Colbie's father, Ken, is a renowned record producer who had a hand in creating classic albums by rock legends Fleetwood Mac. Still, even a well-connected father can't convince thousands of MySpace users to keep playing Colbie's infectious tracks. The songs managed to pop everywhere on their own merits and it looks like they're here to stay.
