After years of East Coast/West Coast hip-hop hegemony, the south has risen. The Dungeon Family are to the city of "Hotlanta" what the Wu-Tang Clan are to NYC and the So Solid Crew are to Brixton. A loose clique incorporating Outkast, Goodie Mob and the Organized Noize production team (responsible for TLC's "Waterfalls" among other classics), The Dungeon Family's debut album as a collective is surprisingly cohesive. All the trademarks of the Southern skool are here (live instrumentation, hi-speed rhymes) and tracks like "Crooked Booty" are the equal of Outkast's own "Ms Jackson".
