Iridology-The Meaning.
Posted in: Health in MissGood's Blog

I am a great one for complementary therapies and love to inquire about new therapies before I rush out and try them. o I though this one would really interesting to look into and discuss in this blog, because it all about analysing health behaviour through looking at the irises of the eye,(the coloured bit in the middle of the two  white bits in the eye). Everybody is an individual and fingerprints and eyecolour depending on how dense they are thought to be linked to different parts of the body and consequently thats how a person gets their habits.

An iridologist would only be consulted for a diagnosis not the treatment of the patient as everything from relationships to genetic behaviour would have to be examined in context of the  whole person.

The idea of iridology was developed in the nineteenth century by a Hungarian scientist Ignatz von Peczely who based his research on the similarities of iris pattern between the owl and the man.In an experiment that he created he found that if both had broken their legs then the shock of the tissue change would affect the iris.

Although iridology is still not scientifically recognised there is a centre based in Germany called The Felke Institute which is doing some interesting work in that direction. I think its sounds really promising as what would we do without our eyesight. I am told that it used for insomnia,weight-loss  and some other seriuos diseases -what about reading and blogging is that a disease? Any opinions?
