Watches From Films - James Bond Watches

Bond has been known to wear a number of watches throughout the movies: some stylish, some not so stylish. Here, we document the watches worn by our favorite double-o agent. If you'd like to see how Q has gadgeted up Bond's watches

In Ian Flemming's novels James Bond wore a Rolex Oyster Preputural Submariner (with phosphrous dials OHMSS). The model used in the movie was the Rolex Submariner 6538. The Rolex Submariner is the watch that Sean Connery wore as the dashing secret agent. In the film On Her Majesty's Secret Service, James Bond (George Lazenby) wears a Rolex Submariner as well. When Connery returned to the role of Bond in Diamonds are Forever, he was once again seen wearing the Rolex Sub.

During the late 70s and early 80s, the Bond franchise jumped on the digitization bandwagon and Bond was seen wearing a number of Seiko (the only reason why Bond started to wear Seiko was just like Rolex Seiko product placed to generate profits) digital or digital/analogue hybrids. I remember these gaudy watches from my youth. In fact I believe I one-uped Bond with my digital watch that transformed into a little robot. With the introduction of Timothy Dalton as Bond in the late 80s, the Seikos were shelved and Submariner was reintroduced to the world as Bond's watch of choice.

While the Submariner has come to be associated as Bond's favorite watch it seems that the Omega Seamaster may be may be joining the Submariner in the Bond wristwatch canon.

At different points in the Bond movies, we see Bond wearing some other watches that were specially modified by Q and made cameo appearances in the films
