Justine Henin announces shock retirement Justine Henin gave a press conference in Belgium were she announced that she was was retiring from professional tennis with immediate effect on Wednesday May 14th. Carlos Rodriguez, her coach for 15 years, was with her and when it was his time to speak he was almost crying and it was difficult for him to start talking about it. Justine said: "It's the end of a wonderful adventure but it's something I have been thinking about for a long time," . Justine Henin, world number of, has officially retired from the WTA circuit.
