It's officially official! The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, the Harry Potter Theme Park set to be released in late 2009 or early 2010 is a combined effort of Universal Orlando Resort and Warner Bros. The fact that this contract was signed by Universal was a shock for many fans, who expected it to be a Disney effort. However, the prospect is very exciting nonetheless. J.K Rowling, the renowned author of the Harry Potter novels said "The plans I've seen look incredibly exciting, and I don't think fans of the books or films will be disappointed."

What should one expect in a recreation of Harry Potter's world? A few things we know are going to be there for sure are the Hogwarts Castle, Hogsmeade Village, and possible even the Forbidden Forest. However, Universal Studios is famed for it's adrenaline rushing rides - not for attention to detail. How does one get rides from a fantasy world? Well, the Oscar winning production designer for the Harry Potter movie puts it simply: "Our primary goal is to make sure this experience is an authentic extension of Harry Potter's world as it is portrayed in the books and films." Note the word extension. Will fans see things never existent in the books? Or will we see some pretty imaginative conversions of the already existent locations?
