The Thai festivals such as loy krathong usually takes place at the river side, songkran is played all over the country. Whereas, the international sports competitions, international events, etc. are held continuously at the destinations such as Bangkok, Chiang mai, Phuket, Pattaya, Hua Hin and many more. | Yi Peng Festival |  | Yi Peng Festival is held annually on Loi Krathong day. It is a very interesting event of Chiang Mai. The festival features launching lanterns into the sky to worship the gods. There are also fireworks, lantern contests, and beauty pageants.
