Thinking positive… is that really all it takes to be successful, thinking positive?
Well there is little doubt that it is certainly the starting point of success but it does take a little more than just thinking positive, if you really want to get to where you want to be.

Your thoughts are the primary driving force in your life (combined with your feelings of course). They effect every part of your life and this includes your business life. Being aware of your thoughts can seem like a big job at first but it really is essential if you wish to make your life the way you want it to be. How your mind works is a DIRECT influence on how your life and business and everything else turns out.

For those of you thinking this is some “new age” nonsense or some spooky voodoo stuff, I would like to inform you that scientists are finally just starting to realise the same things that have led to this understanding. They understand that there is a direct correlation between thought and the results that you get.

This is all great but monitoring your thoughts on a daily basis can be a tough job. It takes a lot of conscious effort to knowingly guide your thoughts in the direction you want them to. And how do you know when you are thinking something that is taking you in the direction that you want to go.

Well, there is a pretty simple way to know which thoughts are good and which ones are bad. It involves your feelings. You feelings tell you whether or not a thought is good or bad. Your thoughts create feelings, and your feelings create the actions that you take. Ultimately, your actions determine your results.

Your feelings immediately tell you what your thoughts are; whether they are good or bad, beneficial or detrimental . It is through this method that you can instantly know whether or not you should entertain certain thoughts or to simply let them go.

Decide on a purpose, a goal, an achieve that you would like to attain. Once you have done this your thoughts become a guiding rod for you to follow. Simply put, if you feel good when thinking certain things; then you are on your way to reaching your goal, if you feel bad because of the thoughts you feel; then you are going away from your goal.

Rather than try to monitor each and every thought you have, simply try to pay attention to your feelings. When feeling bad, guide your thoughts toward something that makes you feel good. This sometimes seems a little difficult to do, an easy way to make yourself feel better is to be around those that make you feel good, or simply read some short motivational quotes; for example

“Thomas Edison Failed 1000 times before finally coming up with the design for the incandescent light bulb” Personally that motivates me

This is a life long thing, not just a one off. It needs to become a the way you live your life. It will take effort but you will see that with practice you will come to understand it more fully and each time you are able to break through a wall of negativity you will grow in confidence and you will climb higher and higher toward all of your goals.
