Defining your audience

Carefully defining your audience before making any marketing or advertising can save thousands of dollars and hours of efforts in vain. Audience research and awareness also helps you organize and design your site to appeal to this demographic. His audience is anyone who uses its Web site - from reading to sort it and navigate through it.

Start by defining your personal aspects of the public to get concrete answers to enable them to continue their business. Identify the following:

1. Sex (the percentage of men and women)

2. His age (the age range and dominant categories)

3. His technical ability

4. The number of years that have used the Internet

5. Its principal language

6. Their reasons for buying (economy, efficiency, durability, performance, manpower or time-saving, construction, operation, ease of installation or repair, availability, quality craftsmanship, etc.)

7. What causes the emotions to buy (the need for security or convenience, curiosity, pride in the appearance or property, prestige, fear, the need for individuality, the need for recognition, etc.)

8. How much money do earn each year, and how much of that is disposable?

9. How much money they spend each year on products similar to yours?

10. Where do you live?

11. Is that the online store? If so, how often?

12. Do they watch TV, read the newspaper or search the Web?

From these questions, you can deduct the most effective means of advertising and promotion. It may also identify the best way to reach in your pocket using the right copy, design and navigation of the user. Were going to see an ad for Google AdWords has launched a campaign? Want a hip, creative or simple design of the bones? Does your site is compatible with your browser? The responses should be developed.

When you're starting out, their audience demographic data are often based on his own instincts and research. As you develop your business, conduct user surveys to refine the actual figures. Review their plans annually to adjust the figures, projections and strategies. You'd be amazed, looking back at the progress he has made and the achievements it has achieved in just one year.
