One of the ways that auto insurance companies use to try to attract new customers is to offer cheap car insurance quotes. Nothing wrong with this, you might say, and of course this is true. However what we really need to do is look being the advertising spin and make sure what is being offered is actually likely to be true and not just merely spiel to hook you in.   There is a real risk that not all companies offering cheap auto insurance quotes are the real deal.  Be sure you do your due diligence and dig a bit deeper behind that attractive quote, and get to the bottom of the issue. You owe it to yourself and your family to really look into this, because the last thing you need is to have a car accident and you find that your car insurance doesn't cover you under "this" circumstance or has "that" get-out clause.  Cheap car insurance quotes and offers may be quite enticing, however the best thing, to do  is to take time to evaluate the companies, that are offering the deal, read the fine print and pay close attention to the following details:  

1. Is the premium way lower than the industry average? Low...yes...but so low it doesn't make sense....beware! This is a note of caution that should be considered - is the company really viable? Sometimes cheap is too cheap and does not add up.
2.  Are there very easy entry conditions? Most of the companies that offer cheap car insurance quotes tend to have less stringent conditions for entry.  That actually means that anyone, without due restrictions can be allowed to join them as long as they have the ability to pay. Again, this would raise a red flag as to the long term viability of the company.
3. Is the company licensed to operate in your state?  There are companies that are offering the services of insurance agencies and companies but they are not really registered properly in every state.
4. What are the customer testimonials saying? One good way of assessing the quality of an insurance company offering a cheap auto insurance quote is to check through the testimonials of customers.

It is important that you exercise a degree of due diligence in order to satisfy yourself that the cheap car insurance quote is legitimate.
