Envelope Issues That Keep Popping Up
Envelope Issues That Keep Popping Up

Online Printing Company, Envelope PrintingJust how much information needs to be on the front of you envelope?
The rule of thumb for envelope printing is that you need to say enough on the front of your envelope to be sure that you grab a person’s interest, and make them want to open it up to read what you have inside. This means the outside is going to be like a headline in another type of advertising, and this is what attracts attention.
The best headlines give just enough information to let a person know what they are about to read about, but does not try to say everything, leading me to my first point and the first thing people need to avoid doing.

Do not try to put your entire marketing pitch on the front of your envelope. You just do not have that much room to say stuff and the more crowded the cover of your envelope is the less effective it is going to be. If you wanted to have that much information on the outside than why you did not just print some postcards instead?

Rather you need to be sure you have a single sentence, or something simple that you can put on the front of your envelope that will garner enough attention without trying to say too much.

Going with this same idea of the wording, be sure too that you do not try to get too obscure or too clever with what you have to say. What I am referring to here is the tendency to try to come up with a phrase that is interesting and perhaps witty, but can be easily misleading at the same time.

The reason why things like this are done is because the company wants that letter opened and they figure if the headline is quirky it will increase the odds of a person taking interest. That might very well be true if done right, but doing it right can be a difficult task, and has a habit of leading to misunderstandings and misleading envelopes.

To avoid this run whatever you make by other people first. Really no matter what kind of envelope you are creating you should run it by other people before you get your actual envelope printing done. Because you have to be so simple yet interesting at the same time, the more opinions you have on what you are doing the better the end result will be.

Certain types of envelopes work better with certain types of customers as well. Some people are going to want envelopes that are louder and announce their contents completely on the front. Others will prefer a more subdued kind of envelope that does not say much of anything on the front. You have to know who you are dealing with so that you can be certain to send them the right type of envelope.
