The Tallest Building In India…Dadar, Mumbai

Owing to a joint initiative of the Union ministry of Textiles and private real estate developers,  Dadar’s Shivaji Park  is going to be home to the tallest structure in India; it will be a mammoth 72 storey structure. It has a total built-up area of 9,01,049 sq ft, with a height of 1,050 ft, a little short of Petronas Tower which stands at 1483 ft. Dadar already held the privilege of being home to some of the oldest buildings in Mumbai.

The structure which will be known as the India International Trade Tower(IITT) is proposed on the National Textile Corporation’s (NTC) 12 acre India United Mill no. 6 which adjoins the Arabian Sea at Shivaji Park.  The plan involves construction of five-star hotels, cineplexes, shopping arcades, & multi cuisine restaurants. The mega-hub will also promote textiles, gems and jewellery. The government is likely to earn a whopping Rs 200 crore, i.e. about $ 50 Million after the projected is completed.
