A tanning salon can be a great place to work on your color for the warmer months. If you are like me, your skin is very white and it can be embarrassing to wear shorts or a swimsuit like that. I often get plenty of comments such as that I am blinding people with my white legs! Even with a quality tanning salon at your service, you need to do your part to get your body ready for it. Dry skin is a primary reason why it will take some people longer to tan than others. You need to make sure you are removing all of the dead skin when you shower. Exfoliating is a great way to make sure you get to all of the layers. You want to complete this process before you begin tanning. You want to make sure you reduce the amount of dead skin that you have by using a good moisturizer. You should be applying the moisturizer at least twice a day. Put it on when you get out of the shower at night and then again before bed. If your skin tends to be extremely dry you can add it other times during the day as well. Look for moisturizers that are proven to work instead of just grabbing one off the shelf. A great way to speed up the tanning process is to use various products. Most tanning salons have plenty of them on hand for you to choose from. They may have package deals too where you can get a great price on your tanning sessions and the products at the same time. Tanning accelerators work rapidly and you will love being able to see the difference in your skin color in a very short period of time. This is the product you will continue to use until you have a base tan that is the color you want. Once you reach that point you can add a bronzer to your regiment. Many of them have moisturizers in them too which is a great way to make sure your skin doesn't dry out. A common error with those that an is that they think if they stay in the tanning bed for a long time they will achieve color faster. If your body does well with it over a week then add one more minute. Every couple of days you can add another minute until you find where your body is comfortable or until you reach the maximum that the tanning salon allows.
