A report released earlier this month has shown that the median sale price of homes within el Paso, during the quarter from July to September 2008, as compared with the same period last year, has gone up from $135,800 to $136,400; an increase of 0.4%. According to the data, El Paso is amongst the small list of twenty eight markets which have shown an increase in annual prices when compared with figures from last year.
With some stability in the housing sector within El Paso now visible, an increasing number of people are looking at buying El Paso foreclosure homes. Homes affected by foreclosure in El Paso are put up for sale during different stages of the foreclosure procedure.
A home owner can choose the sell a home during pre foreclosure. This would primarily be so that the outstanding debt on the home mortgage can be paid off, thereby resulting in the foreclosure proceedings coming to a halt. In buying a pre foreclosure home, you should ideally go through public records to check if there are any other loans that are linked to the home or if there are any unpaid taxes.
After a home is foreclosed upon, it is generally put up for sale at a public auction. Homes at foreclosure auctions are usually sold on an 'as is' basis, wherein the buyer is responsible for all the expenses that the repair of the house would involve. If you have never attended a foreclosure auction in the past, it is a good idea to attend a couple before placing a bid.
Banks are often in a hurry to sell foreclosed property because of the substantial costs they have to incur in the upkeep of foreclosed homes.
Since there is no dearth of El Paso foreclosure homes, go through all the avenues available, before picking one you wish to be part of.
