One will taste a wonderful variety of French wines- from Alsace to Bordeaux, from Burgundy to Chateauneuf-du-Pape. With a unique approach, focused on fun and pleasure, the French sommelier will allow one to learn and enjoy about the pleasures of wine. There are three tasting to choose from and each is unique. Highlights on all experiences include Wine Appreciation Class, French Wine Regions Presentation, Reading a French Label and the possibility to buy wine. Even with a base knowledge of wine, it can be hard to describe them. One will learn to tell the differences between aromas, the terminology to express them, and how to read “behind the label”. Just as important, one will enjoy each of these wines in their appropriate glasses, goblets, and flutes, and one will learn the mysterious technique of “retro-olfaction”. The wine tasting session is complemented by plates of fine cheeses and smoked meats, and takes place in an authentic wine cellar. Generally a private guide will accompany one during the wine tasting session, which will be followed by shopping in Paris finest wine boutiques afterwards. Caves Legrand, located in 1 rue de la Banque 75002 Paris, with an entrance from the Galerie Vivienne too is a charming wine tasting center. This “Galerie” is a covered passageway with shops and glass ceiling built in 1823 by the architect Francois Jean Delannoy with luxuries of this era, indoor decoration, lighting, floor mosaics, upscale shops, etc. The Galerie Vivienne access near Caves Legrand is at 5 rue de la Banque. The wine store which was operated by several generations of Legrands is not owned any more by the Legrand family. It was bought in 2000 by Gerard Sibourd-Baudry and Christian de Chateauvieux who renovated the place while keeping its quality wines orientation. Exciting wine tasting are taught in the specially designed loft of French sommelier for a fun and friendly learning atmosphere in a Parisian home. The beautiful d้cor of this Parisian loft is worth a visit which is truly dedicated to wine tasting. The wine tasting session is generally started with a welcoming “flute de Champagne”. Then, one will be expertly guided in a wonderful tasting experience by the French sommelier. He will guide one through a journey of discovery of the French “art de vivre”. This new concept of a Tasting Lunch will allow one to learn while enjoying delicious wine and cheese. A day spent in Paris always takes a lot of energy; but one thing is sure that no one will be hungry at the end of this tasting. Five wines will be tasted, in accordance with five cheeses.
