At such times, what could be better than wine as a Thanksgiving gift? Wine is symbolic of happiness, relaxation and celebration. Wine represents the good things of life. And above all, wine shows people that you love them.

If your loved ones are at a distance, it's still easy to send them wine as a Thanksgiving gift. Most companies who provide gift wines will deliver them anywhere in the country - or even in the world in some cases. Sending the gift is not a problem - the difficulty is deciding what to send!

A few gourmet cheeses that pair well with the wine.
Some luxury foods like chocolates, caviare or smoked salmon. If you are having trouble choosing, think of the kinds of food the person likes but would never buy for him/herself.
You could have an Italian-themed basket with Italian wines, Parmesan cheese and Italian cooked meats.
Some people like to include flowers and/or fruit. It adds the finishing touch of glamor to the basket.

Just remember when sending wine as a Thanksgiving gift that the main object is to give pleasure. You would love to be there but the gift is taking your place.
