8 Rules To Make Money With AdSense

Making money from Adsense is not really difficult if you know what you are doing. Below is 8 golden rules of Adsense that I found working for me.

Tip 1 : Make sure your ads are above the fold

The fold is what you see on the page when your website loads. You don't want your visitors to scroll down the page to see the ads because most people have no patience and will not bother to scroll down the fold.

Tip 2 : Don't add more than 3 blocks per page

Too many ad blocks will distract your visitors and make them feel that your site is purely an advertising site.

Tip 3 : Don't put more than 4 ads in one ad block

Too many ads in each block will confuse your visitors and drift them away. Google usually places the most relevant ads to the top. This is where you make the most profits from.

Tip 4 : Stick to the 250x300 rectangle blocks.

The best option would be the 250x300 rectangle displaying 3 ads. The medium rectangle works the best for me. Of course, you can split test different size ads to see which generates most profit for you.

Tip 5 : Blend your block with ads into the page

Make your ads look like being part of your site so your visitors feel comfortable to click on it. Use the same background color and text size. I prefer not to use border around the Adsense block because it looks more natural to be part of your content.

Tip 6 : Always keep the links blue

People have been trained to click on blue links to get more information. No matter what background color or text color you use, I recommend you use blue links at all time.

Tip 7 : Set up channels for each ad block

By setting up Adsense channels, you will be able to track what ads work better and what do not. When you do split testing, those channels can give you information on which setting works best.

Tip 8 : Use proven templates

Certain Adsense templates perform better than others. It all depends on where you put your ad blocks and the format of your content and the ads. One of the best ways is to spy on big forums and blogs of some internet marketing gurus and learn from them.
