Another three-day holiday is coming and it's the second time for us to enjoy the Dragon Boat Festival on the fifth day of the fifth month in the lunal calendar. I feel quite relaxed after supervising the graduate students' graduation thesis for such a long time. I think that I will make a good plan for my little daughter to enjoy her carefree childhood to her heart.
     In the morning, my daughter got up quite early as usual, and she came to wake me up. Hehe, do not laugh at me. I cannot have a good sleep so long as my naughty daughter woke up although I want to oversleep for a little while on the weekend mornings. After the breakfast, I began to make preparations for my course teaching of the next week, and she started to practice drawing attentively sitting beside me.
     Thirty minutes later, the bell rang, and I went to answer the door. Here stood  the boy who came to ask me to tutor him English, with his father accampying him. I could clearly notice that the boy was not so willing to make up for lessons on such a special festival. However, his father told to him seriously that he was lucky enough to be tutored privately, and more than sixty other classmates cannot enjoy this kind of priviledge. Anyway the boy was very obedient and I felt quite at ease. He was a middle school student in the first year, and he thought it's difficult for him to memorize so many new words. I began to teach him from the soundmarks and  taught him to learn the new words by means of many effective memorization methods, including association, prediction and deduction, ect. When I taught him how to retain the new words by recognizing the specific soundmarks of some letter clusters, it seemed that the spark of memorization suddenly occured to him and he felt very accomplished in some way. As his tutor, what I desire is to commit to my goal -- appreciate languages and inspire more people to appreciate the languages, not only English, but also Chinese.
     When my student tutored went back home, I went out to the supermarket to buy tsong tsi, a special and delicious food eaten on the Duan wu Festival(also, the Dragon Boat Festival). When I reached there, it has been crowded with so many customers buying lots of items. I managed to buy some zongzi and push to the counter. It's terribly disgusting that a young guy jumped the queque. My lovely daughter has fallen asleep at noon when I hurried back home.
     During the noon break, my mom and I watched a TV series entitled Year in, Year out. After my daughter woke up, we went to the Children's Amusement park. Excited and motivated by the happy atmosphere, she laughed happily and held out my digital camera to snap photos of her. I kept her smiles and happiness in my camera and in my heart. How happy I am being a mother of her. She was a lovely child who's easily contented. She likes to eat the Hangzhou juicy steamed buns, and I said "yes" quickly when she wanted to eat them once again. Suddenly my cellphone rang, it was her uncle saying that her grandpa has bought a desk for her. I appreciated  her grandpa's kindness very much. Despite my husband's being far away from us, I still can sense his deep love over the phone for me and for my daughter. Because I knew that I was lucky enough to have a kind father-in-law. Like father, like son, and I was happy enough to live in a harmonous family.
