Diner at the Babylon at the
Roof Gardens
(Haley and Kevin)

Kevin got out of his Lexus and
went around to the passenger
side to open the door for
Haley. When she emerged from
the car, he wrapped an arm
around her waist bringing her
close to him and tossed the
vallet the keys to the car.

'He'd better be careful with
that' he mumbled to Haley as
they entered the glass doors
leading into the restaurant.
Haley laughed at him, 'calm
down Kev, this is the freakin'
Babylon at the Roof Gardens.
No way they'd have bad
vallets. You need to relax and
enjoy the night.'

But how could he relax when he
was about to ask her to do
something that would change
her life as she knew it?

'May I take your coat?' asked
the concierge, a man of about
40 years of age.
'yes please' Haley replied
taking off her long peacoat.

With her coat off the full
effect of her gown could be
seen. The concierge
shamelessly stared at Haley,
obviously checking her out.

' eh-hum!' Kevin cleared his
throat loudly, uncomfortable
with the way the concierge and
a few of the men who'd just
walked in were looking at her
'so we should be getting
seated right?' he asked the
concierge with a meaningful
tone in his voice.

The concierge dragged his eyes
from Haley to Kevin slowly. A
little angry that Kevin had
spoken up but trying to appear
professional because he could
get fired for harassing a
guest.

'yes, right this way then. You
have reservations for the
Private Dining Room, follow
me.' he grabbed two menus and
lead them through the
restaurant to a secluded room
off to the side.
The room had it's own terrace,
you could see the famous
flamingos residing in the
English Woodland Garden from
there.

'A waiter will come be back
for your orders in 5 minutes'
the concierge said leaving the
room, but not before giving
Haley a wink.

The moment he left she burst
out laughing.
'WOW. I cant believe that, the
old perv.'
Kevin laughed too, but his
laughter was a little forced.

'she really is stunning,' he
thought to himself, 'it
wouldn't be hard for her to
find someone else.'

His false laughter didn't go
unnoticed by Haley.
'what's wrong? I haven't heard
a real laugh from you all
day.' she told him with
concern
'no, nothing's wrong really.'
he said burying his head in
the menu

30 minutes later and their
plates were whipped clean,
their conversation flowing and
laughter never faltering. If
not for the sound proof walls
the room provided, they'd have
been kicked out for disrupting
the peace of the restaurant a
long time ago.

After a really good fit of
laughter Kevin looked up at
Haley taking in the sight of
her as she laughed. He
couldn't help but smile.
'it's now or never' he thought
to himself.

BECAUSE I MISSED YESTERDAY'S
