This is a report I did on stop motion for a speech class. I'm really proud of it. I did borrow random clips from youtube, and their is a disclaimer at the end, so please don't get mad at me for using your vids. Well, I hope you like it!Blunty3000 was kind enough to have notified me of my errors in this film. this is a copy of more
This is a report I did on stop motion for a speech class. I'm really proud of it. I did borrow random clips from youtube, and their is a disclaimer at the end, so please don't get mad at me for using your vids. Well, I hope you like it!Blunty3000 was kind enough to have notified me of my errors in this film. this is a copy of mis PM to me:You did get a few things wrong in your clip though, Including how many frames there are in a second, for instance, I shoot at 15, the wallace and gromit guys (aardman animation) shoot most of their (pre ware rabbit) stuff 'on twos' meaning they shoot with 24FPS film, but capture two frames at once, meaning they're actually using 12 FPS unless it's a particularly high action scene then in some cases they'll move to shooting on ones to get that quick movement looking smooth(in the case of ware rabbit though, they shot with digital still cameras not film) and most other 'short films' like Rudolph are similarly shot at 12fps.So all your frame calculations are way off for the vast majority of stop-mo produced. And as for your 'slow mo' statement of 36FPS, that just isn't true - 'slow motion' is achieved in stop motion just the same as any other motion... the only difference is the puppets are moved in much smaller increments so when played back they appear to be moving slowly. You also used incorrect terminology when talking about 'mapping out' all the movements etc... that's done in PRE-production - well before shooting - NOT, as you claimed 'post-production' - that would be AFTER shooting, post production is things like editing, and special effects etc. That aside, as I said, it was a very well out together video, nicely edited.cheersNate.
