the players have enough
difficulty moving through the
mud at all. Passing is a
challenge and dribbling is
impossible.

'It's not really sport, it is
more like paddling in mud.
There is a ball somewhere
which you try somehow to get
over the line, and that is it'
Karina Schunk said. 'Yes, that
is all there is to it, said
her friend Jana Popsche. 'You
throw yourself at it, not
necessarily voluntarily, you
just get stuck in the mud and
that is it, you can't really
move very much!'

The mud games are not just for
fun though, the proceeds going
to cancer research.
