years ago. Imagine my surprise
when the actress in it emailed
me from South Africa where it
was shot. She'd NEVER SEEN her
spot - a spot which was a cult
classic and spoofed galore,
including a Foo Fighters music
video. The poor girl had been
searching for this spot formore

spot - a spot which was a cult
classic and spoofed galore,
including a Foo Fighters music
video. The poor girl had been
searching for this spot for
over a decade. I thought this
was terribly unfresh and
searched high and low to no
avail. Things looked bleak.
Eventually I reached out to
friends in high places looking
for any way to locate a copy.
An advertising friend (now
renown for writing the GEICO
Caveman ads) found the spot.
Though the quality belies its
age, I made a nice South
African actress very happy. A
very Mentos ending indeed.
