Lincoln introduced the
production version of its new
2008 MKS luxury flagship.
Director of Design made an
extensive introduction of the
design philosophy behind this
car, which we will show you in
its entirety.In our
evaluation, though the car is
definitely a step up from the
existing Lincoln design, it
can hardly be called to set
new standards. Its main rivals
seem more outspoken. In the
introduction Lincoln clearly
set its target at Lexus, and
the biggest impact this MKS
can have is if it really would
be equaling if not surpassing
the renowned Lexus standard of
excellence.Though current
vehicles in the Lincoln
line-up show that Lincoln is
far removed from this
ambitious goal, their
insistance with the MKS
quality puts severe pressure
on Lincoln to finally come up
with the goods. And if this
MKS does that, it will be a
significant car, but not for
its design.
