and impacted the stbd vertical
stabilizer of the MD-21.The
aircraft pitched up and
promptly broke apart due to
extreme aerodynamic stress.The
cockpit separated from the
aircraft shortly after initial
break-up, and both pilots
ejected at an unknown
supersonic speed.Both pilots
survived the egress, but the
co-pilot drowned after
prematurely removing his
flight suit faceplate while in
the water.The video shows two
successful separations from an
onboard camera from two
previous flights, and then
shows the accident from
another unknown aircraft
(presumably another SR-71).
