care system, I must share with
you a lot of 'internal' data.
If we simply study the current
system and effect changes,
there would be no more money
needed to finance a Universal
Health Care Plan/Single Payer
and with Choice. The system
would become safer and more
effective if patients were
able to choose a medical
provider. Society must
carefully monitor specific
physicians like surgeons,
cardiologists, and
dermatologists. At the same
time, we must carefully study
how hospitals lobby our
elected leaders in order to
'stay in business' at a great
cost of life and public.
Doctors with a specialty must
not be allowed to practice
primary care or to own such a
facility. For instance, if a
cardiologist also practices
general pediatrics or adult
medicine, there is a high risk
of such patients getting
unnecessary procedures and
expensive 'brand' care.
Today, it is legal for such
doctors to practice primary
care and refer patients to
themselves for invasive
procedures. A hospital cannot
be allowed to own and rent
medical facility to
physicians. At present, this
creates a bias where
physicians may refer to a
lesser hospital just because
in some form the hospital
subsidizes his rent or
indirectly benefits the
medical provider. The patient
must seek care for his
patients at the best possible
facility for any given
condition.We must look back
and study as to how Senator
Bill Frist became so rich out
of Medicare, Medicaide and
Tricare (Military Health
Care). Frist became a heart
surgeon. There is a lot of
money to be made as a
cardiothoracic surgeon.
